on tap at the brewpub in Burlingame, CA; cloudy yellow-orange color; bready, banana aroma; bready malt; not much in the way of banana or clove hefeweizen flavor; more of an American wheat; citrusy notes (probably from the lemon slice; overall a pretty bland bee That1Guy (2236) - Colorado, USA - SEP 6, 2014
Part of a flight at the brewery with Dadbra. Light yellow pour, no head. Searching for more bananas or any kind of spicy yeast tendencies, but there’s just not much there. And it has a DMS problem. Smelled a bit like tomato soup. lb4lb (2587) - Austin, Texas, USA - JAN 6, 2014
pretty bland and watery. Light hefe yeast flavor, but this a below average hefeweizen. I don’t recommend it. jjgmd (2147) - Coral Springs, Florida, USA - DEC 16, 2013
On tap at Steelhead Brewery, Burlingame,California, pours a hazy golden pour. Smell is grainy, ugh ! Taste is grainy as well and wheaty. Honestly not a hefe fan at all. Finished on a grainy note. Quaff Score 4 / 10 zgaier (1951) - Coral Springs, Florida, USA - DEC 16, 2013
On tap at Steelhead brewing co in Burlingame station. Pours a cloudy yellow gold with a white head and wheaty aroma. Taste is light, of wheat, bread, and caramel with a wheaty finish. Not much to this brew

Slightly cloudy golden pour with a white head. Lemon peel, a light tartness, and sweet malt up front on the nose. Mild spiciness, a touch of yeast, grass, and some very faint banana. The flavor is a bit tart and rather dry. Mild wheat and bread sweetness. Some yeast, a touch of cardboard, and a definite grassiness. A metallic tinge on the finish. Pale clouded appearance. Mild fruity aroma. Slightly sweet, lemony, grainy flavor, mild finish. Not much wrong but not much to talk about either.
This is a bad bad beer. Bad aroma, bad taste. The lemon saves it, but certainly not a beer i'll have again. Crit (3973) - Surrey, British Columbia, CANADA - JAN 14, 2003
Not something I wish to partake of again. joet (2604) - Wilsonville, Oregon, USA - AUG 31, 2001
The ass behind the bar (who shorted me BTW) droped a lemon in my beer while watching me shake my head and mouth ’NO NO!’. Total prick, though he may have been trying to save this lousy beer. The Steelhead in SF is a disgusting place to drink beer. The aroma of sterilizer pervades and yet this beer is still contaminated. Traces of dish soap in the finish. Very effervescent, crisp, trace of citrus (despite the lemon).
