Dark brown with mahogany edges. Big frothy, tan head and spotty lacing. Chocolate and roasted malts in the nose. Bitter hops with some coffee. In the flavors though, some heat comes through from the Mexican chocolate used. It’s muted rather quickly by the roast though. Musty mouth feel... kind of, well I don’t know. Finishes chocolaty with some heat

Ruby black color, tan head, light lacing. Nose of peppers & light oaky smoke, almost like adobo sauce. Sweet coffee & chocolate are present too in their appropriate amounts. The flavor is typical of a stout but with a light spicy backdrop.
On tap at the Eugene Steelhead brewery. Pours black, hints of red when held up to the light with a thin light tan head. This was a really sweet stout, moderate roasting to the grains with cocoa up front and cinnamon in the finish. Very smooth with a mild bitter finish. An interesting stout that seemed to go really nicely with sweetness of the glazed onions in my Steelhead burger.
