NIce scotch ale here. Pours brown with a red hue. Thin brown head on top. Aroma was full of toffee, caramel, oak, and alcohol. Flavor was very rich, a little on the sweet side but they made a pretty good attempt at balancing the sweetness. Full bodied with a bitter finish. Definitely a winter warmer! cole45 (21) - USA - JAN 15, 2007
Had this as part of an 8 beer flight. Good mix of malt (more) and hops (less). Definite alcohol flavor in spite of the heavy malt, which does a lot to mask it. Very enjoyable brew. ElGaucho (2401) - Minnetonka, Minnesota, USA - FEB 7, 2005
Some chocolate notes in the nose with strong alcohol evident. Tastes oak aged. High alcohol profile. Very nice. Smooth. May be Steelhead’s best brew.
