Cask Half Pint – JDW Fest Autumn 2012 - Reddish Brown in colour. Spicy; ‘gruut’ (a mixture of spices), hints of cinnamon. Yeasty. Malty; toasty malts, toffee. Fruity; dried fruits. Crosse Keys Spoons. Clear amber beer, little tan head, Light palate, smooth and a little dry. Fresh sweetish malt with a nicely integrated banana ester. A little orange citrus. Semi dry finish. Nice.
Cask at The Penderels Oak, half-pint shared with Finn. Deep, dark brown coloured body, a few spots to the glassware. Mild aroma of earthy malts and almond. Taste of cocoa powder, herbal hops and nuts. The ending is sweet and very dry. Average (JDWs real-ale festival, London 01.11.2012).
