Bottle from Capone’s. Deep coppery pour with ruby edges and minimal off-white head. Aroma is caramel malt, mild brown sugar, toffee, and some offy notes. Tastes of heavy caramel malt, with slight brown sugar, nut, and dark fruit notes, but the flavor profile and mouthfeel remains rather uninteresting and blase. Not horrible, but not a repeater for me. Good clear copper, large off-white head. Looks fine. Nose of floral hops. Taste of floral hops, a little sweet malt, but not much intensity of flavor, slight bitter finish, and the usual marzen nuttiness is barely present. Thin in the mouth, consistent with the lack of intensity of flavor and lack of complexity. Sort of the high end of drain pour ... but I still tossed it. Why waste the calories on this sorry specimen? On draft at the Newtown Brewfest with Stegosaurus and The Mad Indian. Pours amber with an off-white head. Aroma of caramel, grain, and citrus. The flavor is sweet, caramel, and citrus. Decent beer. Dickinsonbeer (5074) - Hoboken, New Jersey, USA - OCT 22, 2006
I was actually hoping this would at least be decent since thier porter was pretty good. Pours a clear light amber with a white head and high carbonation. Aroma of light DMS, some crackery malts, and slight caramel sweetness. No real bready or thick full toasted malts, just plain malts and a light crisp bitterness. Weak body and mouthfeel. ech. stegosaurus (1882) - Levittown, Pennsylvania, USA - OCT 21, 2006

Drank with Stegosaurus and Beereded_one at Newton brew fest. This was a thin octoberfest not a true good one. Thin in body and taste. Not too good. zathrus13 (1776) - Mount Laurel, New Jersey, USA - OCT 18, 2006
Orange/amber, with a white head. Aromas are grain, malt, and sugar. Flavors are sugar, malt, grain, and some fruit and hops as well. Much better than I expected from Stegmaier, but not exactly a prototypical Octoberfest. JFGrind (2043) - Glenside, Pennsylvania, USA - OCT 2, 2006
I give Lion Brewery much credit for brewing a regional Oktoberfest. Medium bodied malts, amber Marzen with light sweetness and lighter bitterness. decon (1) - USA - SEP 25, 2006 does not count
A friend gave me a two bottles to try. The beer was malty and flavorful. It had a nice dark appearance with a good head. pbjclimber (150) - Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania, USA - SEP 2, 2006
Pours a nice mahogany color with a tan head which leaves no lacing and does not have very good retention. The flavor is of mainly caramel malts with a little bit of spice, very little hop profile. The mouth feel is a little water. This is not a bad beer for $20 a case and would make a nice session beer.
