Pale yellow gold hue, soft foamy white head, but falls quickly, pale malt, floral hop aroma follows through on a medium-bodied palate with pale malt, sweet corny note in a mild hoppy finish. A standard international lager

(Draught at Koala, Prague) Straw yellow colour, Quite good head with some lacing. Aroma from hops and citrus. Watery. Flavour from cooked vegetables. Almost no bitterness. Light bodied.

Bottled. Pale goldne colour. Small, lacey head. Weak, hoppy aroma. Typical pale lager taste. Worse than Jupiler.

Had a couple at an Indian pub called the Curry Pot right on the South China Sea in Stanley, Hong Kong, while enjoying Thai curry and watching English Premier League football on the big-screen telly! It was a heavy-duty cultural mellange that rendered Stella Artois a bit thin by contrast. But then, the food was spicy, so the lightness and drinkability were helpful. It took TWO 600 ml glasses to cool my tongue, and it was a pretty nice way to do it. My son had a less spicy meal (bad choice -- dont order a hamburger at an Indian pub in Hong Kong!) and a Guinness Foreign Extra Stout (excellent choice anywhere on the planet!). He made both the worse and better selection than I. Stellas not a very powerful beer in terms of taste, but it had a nice head and a cool refreshing taste. This is not something to drink on its own -- it does well with spicy, hot foods, or with pizza.

For a low rated beer, this stuff is good on tap, only when the lines are clean. Pours nice with a big white head. Nice hop aroma and subtle spices. Tastes smooth with a nice peppery bite. Crisp and dry with some grassiness.

Pint can from VW Kelso. I used to think this was the biz, but either Ive changed or this has gone downhill bigtime. I used to work for Oddbins years ago, and at that time they sold the" brewed under licence" version, and they also managed to get a parcel of genuine Belgian brewed stuff. The staff of the branch I worked in (well, 3 of us!) did a blind tasting to see which version we prefered..the under licence version won hands down!!!! Ive not tried this for a long time, but Im not impressed, nothing more than a bog standard lager now.

Bottle Green Mill. Chi,IL. Looks like a heineken and everything about it screams heineken basically. Light head with yellow body. Nose is dry. Very bitter and dry with little mouthfeel except a bit of stingyness.

Was not impressed, but this wasnt a bad beer. Aroma from the bottle was kinda skunky, head didnt last long, watery aftertaste. Highly drinkable, but nothing to write home about.

Stella is attempting to penetrate the US market for mediocre homogenized corporate import lager--and theyve formulated the product just right to appeal to the ranks of Heineken and Becks aficionados. Finely balanced non-taste, with a hint of overhopping to make it seem European. Stellas no better in Belgium or the UK, where it appeals to the same pretentious crowd. Ill order it where theres nothing better to show the Belgian flag--though as I do, Im wishing yummy Primus was making the jump instead.

The european bud light. I have drank this every way possible- warm, cold, bottle or tap.. anyway you get it, its still comparable to a mass-produced beer from the states. Pretty boring.
