Almost Mexican tasting in its malt and near-spicy bitter. Prone to skunk. Not entirely bad for a macro.

Watery, no taste. I was not able to really to appreciate it. Need to re-rate.

Primium? I couldnt taste anything. Sure it looks nice goes down easy, but a little too easy. Very timid.... Its a weak drink.

This time im having one brewed by New Zealand breweries in Auckland, NZ, i think this is a bit blander than the Belgian version, sweet, with a slight bitter edge on the finish, better than most macro lagers, similiar to the Belgian brewed Stella, not too much difference.

Pours a golden colour with a lacing head. Aroma is sweet malt, glue and grass. Grainy flavour with some citrus notes. Dry finish.

On tap at Brussells airport. Well I decided to try it one more time before I left Belgium especially when someone recommended trying it on tap. Visually its the same pale gold clear but this time under a large medium lasting white head and faint lacing. Served too cold to discern anything other than s faint hop straw aroma. Same old thinnish watery body and faint bitter palate. From what I can see theres no real difference between on tap and bottle versions of this beer.
First rating 6/17/2002 2.1 Bright gold clear colour with almost zero head. Faint malty corn syrup and hops aroma. Thin watery body and light bitter hops flavours. Faint bitter hops and soft sweet finish and wimpy aftertaste. Fortunately I only have to drink this once (for rating purposes only) while living in beer heaven - so for now its back to the strong Belgians.

Aesir (130) - Tustin, California, USA - SEP 21, 2002
UPDATED: FEB 11, 2010 Well, it was advertised as the best selling Belgian beer, and if thats the case, thats a shame. On the other hand, its pretty drinkable. Not bad for a yellow beer, but it could definitely use some more... something.. On a positive note, the paper wrapper that goes all the way up to the cap is as classy as classy gets.

Pours very clear yellow with initial foamy white head. Head dissapears quickly leaving lacing. Old hops aroma. Thin clear mouthfeel with slight sweetness. Spicey bitter hop tastes. Alright beer if its served very cold and its a hot day.
