On tap. Yellowy gold with a substantial white head. Grainy nose. Weak grain flavor. Crisp finish, and it is oddly drinkable, but not a good lager, for sure. Maybe you keep drinking it to try to find some flavor.

Draught at Federal in Durham, NC. Clear, golden color with thin white head. Subtle piney hop aroma. Grainy flavor with a hint of hops. Metallic aftertaste. Not particularly good.

Part of a mix-a-six. 11.2 green bottle. Served at ~49 in a lager glass. Super pale yellow/gold with a white, hazy head. Aroma is noble hops, grassy, some (corny?) sweetness. Initial taste is mildly sweet, quite possibly nothing else. The midtaste is grassy, nearly skunky, with some offsetting sweetness. Finish is light and assuming with some grassiness at the end. I have to assume this beer once tasted better than this, but who knows? Better than american macros, though.

Bottle (green). Had this beer at a family gathering. My beer was skunked. So were the other guests SA beers but that did not seem to bother them. When I asked them what they like about this beer here some of the answers I received : Seem to be popular these days, nice bottle, good commercial ads on TV, it is imported .To each his own I guess. No need to go any further. Why should I drink a smelly beer when there are outstanding Belgians and local beers on the market.

Clear golden straw colored, white fizzy head. Nose was corny, white bread, spicy, grassy hops, and lightly floral. Corn flavored, some metallic spicy hoppiness throughout. Light bodied, watery and thin, adjunct laden finish. Belgian Budweiser...

Long-necked stubbie. Nice summery lager- pale straw colour. Light, grassy flavour with a little hop to it. "Premium Lager" it is. Not the best though- suffers in comparison to locally-brewed Heineken for starters

Poured yellow with a foamy white head that stuck around like a freeloading guest. The head and nice lacing could not make up for the average flavor and awkwardly hoppy aftertaste.

UPDATED: FEB 10, 2006 Bottle. Pours clear, pale golden with ample white head that susided slowly into a thin layer. Quite skunky sour smell. Sweetish malty flavour with a rather disagreable touch of maize. Short finish with a pronounced hop bitterness. Not a memorable lager. I beg to disagree with mrchug645 of alb (?) New Mexico: if you really like Pilsner Urquell (and I do) you must NEVER try Stella Artois Lager as it would constitute a cruel and unusual punishment. I did actually have a bottle of Pilsner Urquell after having Stella Artois and the pilsner tasted divine and renewed my faith in beer.

I was expecting alot more from this beer. I had heard it talked about as if it were some great beer but to me it tasted like Bud Light. Definetely not worth the extra cost.
