COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION

English: Autumn coloured beer using a lot of Munich malt and mashed to give a rich malt profile. Canadian maple syrup is added to give a pleasant flavour and sweetness. First Gold and Cascade hops gives a distinct flavour to balance the sweetness.

Rune (13374) - Tromsø, NORWAY - JUN 1, 2013
100ml poured from a bottle at exhibition stand 67, Ølfestival København 2013. Shiny surface to a mahogany coloured body. Fragile lacing. Dried fruits with malty sweetness to the nose. Jam-like taste followed by bitter endnotes. Ok, very much on the sweet side though (Copenhagen, 23.05.2013).

Bottled. Ambery brown colour with a small slightly off-white head. Aroma is sweet syrup, caramel and mild toasted notes as well as some raisins. Flavour has minor bitterness and is quite close to the same stuff as in the aroma.

Nocturne (1992) - Cheshire, ENGLAND - MAY 15, 2012
Sample at Ølfestival 2012. Dark amber shade. Smells almost like a spirit. Some oaky character and whisky notes. I guess there’s some maple character but I was hoping for more really. Apart from that the base beer is pretty acceptable. Surprising amount of burn as it finishes. Bit of an odd one but it kept me on my toes at least.
