A sweet, toffee-ish aroma.
A golden beer with almost non-lasting head.
Some bitterness. bierkoning (13243) - La Tropica, NETHERLANDS - MAR 16, 2004
Frothy head, diminishing slowly. Slightly hoppy, soapy aroma. Medium bodied. Malty with a firm hoppiness. Some caramel and diacetyl. Some dirtiness in the aftertaste. Senka (1082) - Tallinn, ESTONIA - FEB 13, 2015
FTA: A simple example of Russian lager. I actually have all of the Stepan Razin caps and some of the labels in my archive. Loved the brewery. rickgordon (3874) - Göteborg, SWEDEN - AUG 2, 2003

Golden color. Slightly sweet in flavor. Some hens-food aroma with notes of toffee...I had hopes for worse... KoNrRiI (1491) - Århus, DENMARK - NOV 5, 2013
0.5 bottle. Pale golden color, and a big, white, frothy head which even leaves some lacing. Obvious pale lager aroma: pale malts, some hops and barnyard aromas - very hackneyed. Taste is corny too, has a lot of cereals and a touch of malts, not hop at all. Light body, thin texture and average carbonation. Finish is rather short and has even more grain. Overall the beer like most Russian lagers I have tasted is good in respect that it’s not awful, drinkable too.

Bottled. Pale golden with creamy head. Appley nose. Light bodied and very fruity with some cinnamon. Sweet and clean with low bitterness. Ungstrup (37284) - Citizen of the universe, DENMARK - JUN 22, 2004
A yellow beer with no head and no aroma. The flavor is malty with notes of honey and hops. A boring pilsener. Boystout (1000) - Chisinau, MOLDOVA - FEB 28, 2003
Very sour and loaded with adjuncts. Light body, too much water and chenmical finish. DSG (14685) - Tel Aviv, ISRAEL - SEP 8, 2007
Bottle. 4.0% ABV. Golden color with a collapsing medium white head. Malty aroma with light notes of hops. Flavor is sweet and malty with some hop bitterness in the finish. Light to medium body. sayravai (4710) - Helsinki, FINLAND - MAR 22, 2005
(Bottled, 4.0% ABV) Paleish golden color with a quite small, lacy head. A sweetish aroma of honey-corny malt and some acidity. Corny-malty flavor with some added vegetables and very little hops. Light-bodied, somewhat foamy-carbonated palate. Definitely not interesting, but still a bearable brew. Lacks most of the good features of Petrovskoye and Admiralteyskoe.
