Aroma malted brown sugars. Horse chestnut brown with thick head heavy lacing thicker mouthfeel. Taste was very good paired with dinner overall a good Brew. My only fault is Flavor was sort of one-dimensional. solidfunk (9407) - Washington D.C., Washington DC, USA - NOV 12, 2016
Light smoke and some earthy basement resin. Hint of raisin and light florals. Dark brown pour with good head and lacing. Light sweet finish. Bottle. MarkoR (959) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - AUG 23, 2015
Bottle. Pours a hazy dark colour with thick white head that quickly dissipates. Aroma is malt, caramel, dark fruits. Taste is caramel, honey, some vanilla. Not bad. rondphoto (4494) - Lakeside Park, Kentucky, USA - FEB 20, 2015
bottle @ Party Source / Bellevue KY --- Opaque dark brown color, beige head cover, bits and dots of lace. Aroma of malt. Taste is sweet malt that sweeps quickly through a short palate to a smooth, slightly fizzy finish. A reasonable brew, but still just above average. MWMBeerguy (203) - Massachusetts, USA - FEB 1, 2015
Smelled a little oxidized. Not too dry. A bit raisiny and thin. Not the best Dubbel but ok

330 ml bottle into chalice, bottled on 6/13/2012. Pours moderately murky deep ruby red color with a 1 finger dense light khaki head with good retention, that reduces to a small cap that lingers. Light spotty soapy lacing clings on the glass, with a fair amount of streaming carbonation. Aromas of big raisin, prune, cherry, fig, apple, caramel, toast, molasses, brown sugar, brown bread, light chocolate, clove, pepper, herbal, and yeast earthiness. Very nice aromas with good balance and complexity of fruity/earthy yeast and dark/bready malt sweetness; with good strength. Taste of raisin, prune, cherry, fig, apple, caramel, molasses, toast, brown sugar, brown bread, light chocolate, light clove, herbal, and yeast earthiness. Light herbal/earthy spice on the finish; with lingering notes of raisin, prune, cherry, fig, apple, caramel, molasses, toast, brown sugar, bread bread, light chocolate, light clove, herbal, and yeast earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Very nice complexity and robustness of fruity/earthy yeast and dark/bready malt flavors; with a nice malt/yeast balance and no cloying flavors after the finish. Medium carbonation and body; with a smooth and fairly creamy/slick mouthfeel that is nice. Alcohol is well hidden with zero warming present after the finish. Overall this was a very nice dubbel style. All around good balance, robustness, and complexity of dark/bready malt and fruity/earthy yeast flavors; and very smooth to sip on. A very enjoyable offering. stevoj (5566) - Boise, Idaho, USA - MAR 19, 2014
Normal dubbel type aromas and taste, looks thick but comes off sort of watery. Dark brown, like a cola, with thin skin of a beige head. Aroma is dried fruits and a hint of molasses. Taste is more of the same with a hint wood, eat and bourbon barrel.Very short finish. Jabic (699) - Plainfield, Vermont, USA - JAN 18, 2014
Ar: Brown sugar, faint coffee - some toasted malt and melon.
Ap: Cloudy amber-brown - medium beige head with low-moderate retention, leaves a ring of foam and thin cap.
T: Sweet caramel and whole grain bread - peach and toffee - low bitterness with slight mossy flavor - quick finish, dark sugars.
P: Medium body with high carbonation - finish is dry.
O: Easy-drinking dubbed - sweetness and dark sugar flavors are nice, but fruitiness is lacking. rumproasts (6035) - Grand Rapids, Michigan, USA - JUN 18, 2013
