edden (925) - cow- lumbus, Ohio, USA - MAR 2, 2003
3/1/03: bottle. light orange body with a medium- small size white head. good amount of lacing. heavy yeast nose. lots of bitter hops, in a yucky way. my taste may be a bit off because of a cold but this beer is not to impressive.

bender (293) - Reynoldsburg, Ohio, USA - MAR 1, 2003
UPDATED: JUL 15, 2003 Tan leather colored body with an explosive beige head. Lots of lacing.
Lots of malt in the aroma. Yeastiness is there too. Slight hop whiff in there too, very slight.
Sour maltiness with a noble hop bite. Almost tastes like bread. If there is any fruit taste, it's sour fruit.
Very prickly and carbonated. Did drink room temp.

JK (6095) - St. Louis Park, Minnesota, USA - FEB 25, 2003
Light amber color. Head disappears quickly but left a lace on the glass. Heavily carbonated. Scent of hops. Unpleasant metallic taste that disappeared as it warmed and was replaced by a pleasant herbal taste.

beerslayer (753) - New Jersey, USA - FEB 14, 2003
Flavor wise this Abbey Dubbel is diffent than most. I can't place the earthly vegetable flavor maybe it the asparagas others mentioned. Over all it's a pretty good Dubbel.

kwoeltje (2233) - Manchester, Missouri, USA - FEB 4, 2003
Brown color. Nice light tan head. Malt aroma. Malty flavor with the "Belgian" fruity flavor. Pretty good, not great.

baseballguy (246) - Green Bay, Wisconsin, USA - DEC 30, 2002
Maybe itís not one of the "snob appeal" Belgian beers, but I truly enjoyed it.

delacerveza (166) - Florida, USA - DEC 13, 2002
copper color. non existant head. metallic yet sour nose. flat, thin, totally not an interesting taste. icky.

Aurelius (5294) - Tallahassee, Florida, USA - NOV 22, 2002
Mild Belgian aroma. Fizzy, medium palate with long pecan-bitter finish. Smooth and mostly balanced flavor, leaning off towards bitter. Clear medium brown, with lacy whitish head. Good bottle and logo, awkward label overall though.

jaymobrown (1845) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - NOV 13, 2002
Medium copper color, more like a cherry red. Slightly sweet and fruity. Slight malt flavors, but mostly tart and light. Unfortunately thin. Fairly average.

daboskabouter (1470) - Fergus, Ontario, CANADA - NOV 3, 2002
Transparent copper appearance, light head. Sweet malt, caramel and a faint touch of smoke poking through. The body is spritzy with a touch of hops, iron notes and somewhat organic finish. Not much going on for a (dubbel?) Not a good example.
