8th July 2017: cask pint in Diggers, Edinburgh. Lovely looking beer, deep amber/brown bodied, full foaming white head. Malts rule the nose and taste but the hops play their part to nicely balance out the sweetness with a good bitterness and light fruitiness in the taste. Very, very drinkable for guys like me with a sweet tooth. ekstedt (6773) - Göteborg, SWEDEN - JUN 26, 2017

Tap at a bar in Edinburgh
Pours dark red amber hue with a small off white eggshell head. Nose is malty toasted and quite earthy. Flavors of toasted malt caramel and very lite earthy hops. This is quite lovely as you would say in this part of the world. Finish has lingering toasted caramel malt. Very nice little beer. Hippoman (646) - Durham, ENGLAND - FEB 26, 2016
Cask at The Last Drop, Edinburgh, £3.70/pint.
Dark brown beer with a thin, cream-coloured head. Basically no nose at all to speak of. The taste for the most part is very sweet with malty caramel, toffee and fudge flavours coming through on a thick, smooth palate. There’s no hop action at all. Pleasant at first sip but by the end of the pint it was a little sickly. I’d have been better off just having a half. Probably a decent example of a "classic Scottish heavy" but not really my thing.
