UPDATED: DEC 29, 2011 Re-rating. Was a bit of a hard marker the last time. It pours beautifully and there’s lovely dried fruit on the nose this time. Overall, a well balanced palate and very tasty.

Slightly muesli on the nose. A light golden ale in appearance. Grainy on the palate and a tiny amount of grapefruit on the finish. Average structure and texture. A good ale that is balanced but not as exciting as their other brews.
Re-rate from 5 litre keg (first rate was 2.5). This beer opitimises balance!

UPDATED: MAR 3, 2011 [cask at the Blue Blazer, Edinburgh] Nice golden colour with a decent head. Dry and hoppy with a decent range of flavour for it’s relatively low abv. Always think this is more a pale ale than an IPA, it’s just hot hoppy enough. Stewart’s best-selling beer, and I can see why – much more preferable to Deuchars IPA. Just don’t order one thinking you’ll get something from the Pacific NorthWest - this is a session-strength British IPA all the way (i.e. a golden ale with a few more hops in) re-rate 03032011 - an early Stewart rating, on reflection it’s just too insipid to merit a 3.5 - re-rating to 3.1 although my comments still hold douglas88 (9789) - Portland, Oregon, USA - SEP 14, 2010
On cask drank with Craig and Andrew. Pours a cloudy copper with a thick cask head. The aroma is light fruit, some aromatic floral hops. The flavor is very nice; a smooth creamy palate with some fruit, light bitterness, dry and mellow. Nice. JohnRMurdoch (5145) - Glasgow, SCOTLAND - APR 6, 2010

19.09.2009, on tap at the Cloister, Edinburgh. Amber colour with white head. Low carbonation. Aroma is sweet malty with low bitterness. I dont think this should be named a IPA. Tastes nice and smooth. thewolf (12932) - Kolding, DENMARK - JUL 30, 2009
Cask @ Bow Bar, Edinburgh.
Pours clear golden with a fine, creamy, white head. Aroma is grassy, some honey and pineapple. Light grainy malts. Light frothy mouthfeel, okay carbonation. Flavour has pine, crispy malts, fair hoppiness and a little pineapple. Super-long finish.
