Benjii (3050) - Edinburgh, SCOTLAND - OCT 23, 2011
On cask at Cloisters. Pours a red - orange colour with a fair yellowish beige head. Aroma of pumpkin, yeast, grassy hops, cinnamon and cloves. Big pumpkin flavour with yeast, barley and Weetabix notes. Nicely bitter with mild carbonation and a dry finish. Very nice!

Cask at The Southern. Clear deep amber with a good white head. Spice aromas, but also toffee and caramel. Gentle sweetness to the taste, good toffee malt and clove. Well balanced, and one of the best pumpkin beers I’ve tried.

TheCametron (2480) - CZECH REPUBLIC - OCT 29, 2011
Cask at Doctors. A fine seasonal ale. majority malt flavour but with a sweet additive that can only be described as pumpkinny.

On tap @ the Southern Bar. This is the best Scottish effort at a pumpkin ale I’ve had to date. The base must be a Scotch Ale or an Amber. There’s a great malt backbone that is able to hold the intense spiciness (which as always is the foil for the pumpkin itself). Clove is the spice that comes through most on the finish.

Cask by handpump at State Bar, Glasgow - clear golden amber, thin white head, malty and pumpkin aroma, moderate carbonation, fruity flavour with pumpkin which lasts to the aftertaste, easy to drink, well balanced

Cask @ Red Squirrel, Edinburgh [311013]
Dark amber, clear, very thin white head, some lacing
Aroma of caramel, light fruits, soft spicy, slight vegetal
Taste of caramel malts, spicy notes, some soft fruits. bitter quite earthy hops, dab of cereal, quite malty
Palate - Medium body, smooth, fairly sweet malts, good texture. Finish - fairly bitter, spicy, soft bitter caramel linger
Overall - Nice malts in here, not sure where the pumpkin is though -wasn’t that keen at first then got to like it

3.4

Cask at Holyrood 9a. Pours reddish orange, nose is light pumpkin and sweet toffee, taste is similar. A bit unfair to this as I had after the excellent Elixir pumpkin beer.
