full bodied hazy amber with lacing of white head, creamy wheat body, fairly bitter, citrussy, peppery yeast
Bottle from Coppers, Newcastle. This is a dark amber beer with layers of caramel, spicy fruit, cloves, candi sugar and a warming spicy, earthy finish. sic1314 (4775) - Leiden, NETHERLANDS - MAY 1, 2013
Poured a murky orange with a small off white head. Aroma of spiced citrus. Medium body, flavour of spiced orange with a bitter, tart end. WeissGary (286) - Glasgow, SCOTLAND - APR 2, 2013
Interesting Scottish take on a Belgian Tripel - it has a light floral aroma, golden brown body with an off-white head, unmistakeable Belgian style strong fruity highlights in the taste, quite strong to the taste but somewhat mellow with malty highlights. Would be a good beer to give any enthusiast of both Scottish and Belgian beers, or someone you want to get into them! Worth a shot!

Flavour is moderate sweet and bitter with a average to long duration, fruity, riped fruit, sweet fruit. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft, finish feel is light alcoholic.
Despite the modest score this is a good beer. It is pretty much "what it says on the tin" (bottle)! jvhemert (397) - Edinburgh, SCOTLAND - FEB 23, 2013
AROMA: floral, spruce, banana,
APPEARANCE: amber, orange, clear, minimal head, white foam,
TASTE: medium bitterness,
PALATE: full body, slick feel, average carbonation, bitter, long finish,
OVERALL: ok ale, but not the aromas I like, especially too hoppy, more a belgian christmas abbey than a tripel, wrong colour even! allmyvinyl (10508) - Edinburgh, SCOTLAND - FEB 1, 2013
UPDATED: SEP 26, 2013 Re-rate 26/09/13 - Much as I remember, less bubblegum, more spices. much nicer. Got one left!
Original 01/02/13 - 500ml bottle from Appellation Wines, Dalry. Pours a surprisingly dark orange, good head & lacing. Aromas of yeast, coriander and butterscotch. Slips down nicely for 8%, but some lingering buttery notes, along with citrus and Sorachi Ace (the bubblegum referred to on the label I guess?). Finish is short and sweet. Unusual for the style. Might get a higher mark after ageing for a bit, tasted a bit too fresh to me.
