Comes across as more of a subtle black ipa to me. Fair among of hops dominate the flavor & leaves a good amount of bitterness in the finish. Somewhat interesting but I don’t get much porter resemblance! Drake (13942) - Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA - FEB 8, 2011
Served on draft at the brewpub. Pours nearly black with a medium creamy brown head. Good head retention and lacing. Aroma of chocolate, caramel and roasted malts. The taste is bitter roasted malts, chocolate, mild hoppy notes and a lactic finish. Medium bodied. Goodgrief (2039) - Middletown, Delaware, USA - MAY 26, 2010
On tap at brewpub. Dark pour, aroma of cocoa and burnt wood. The predominant flavor in this one was dark chocolate with a lot of roasted notes and a faint smokiness. I never would have guessed it was wheat based...you couldn’t really tell. michael-pollack (4959) - King of Prussia, Pennsylvania, USA - MAY 18, 2010
Draught at BrewPub: Aroma of roasted malt and slight chocolate. Poured very deep amber/mahogany/slight ruby in color with a small, tan head that lasted around the edges only. Clear. Slightly sparkling. Flavor is lightly sweet and lightly bitter. Tastes of roasted malt, slight smoke, light chocolate, and slight caramel. Medium body. Slick, then slightly dry, slightly chalky texture. Average carbonation. Roasted malt and light chocolate finish is a tad dry. GMCC2181 (1611) - Newark, Delaware, USA - JAN 26, 2009
Draught at stewarts. Nice beer... Not what I was expecting when I saw wheat porter.... Poured into a pint glass. Black in color, small head. Decent aroma of coffee. Taste, more like a coffee porter. Coffee and oats, strong malt. Well balanced. Nice creamy smooth texture. Carbonation level was right on the spot. Overall a solid beer that I would go back just to get.
