On tap at Iron Hill West Chester during the Belgium Comes to West Chester Event. Served in a tulip glass.
Pours a clear light copper color with a nice white head. Good retention and a bit of lacing. The nose brings forward some mild rye and accompanying spice. Black pepper in the background. Flavor is a bit more spicy and it’s a bit distracting from the underlying smoothness.
Light-medium body with a nice crispness. Good carbonation. A solid brew all around, but could do with a little less pepper in the flavor and through the finish.
This was good, not great for me. Lots of good components but maybe not integrated as well as I’d like. The spicy rye notes were pronounced and good with the rich dish I was eating. GMCC2181 (1613) - Newark, Delaware, USA - NOV 14, 2012
Draft at Stewarts... Pours a reddish color.. Doesnt look like your typical saison. Nose is dry earthy notes with a rye malt backbone. Taste is dry earthy, some spices, yeasty, slight hop presence with a malty backbone. More of a red ale meets a saison. Medium body, good amount of carbonation. Overall: Enjoyable
