Vielen Dank an Erzengel für dieses Bier! Sehr leicht trübe goldene Farbe, kaum Schaumbildung. Geruch süß malzig, angenehme leichte Hopfigkeit. Geschmack angenehm hopfig, floral bitter, schöne runde Malzigkeit, süffig.

Koelschtrinker (21171) - K?ln (Cologne), GERMANY - JUN 6, 2011
UPDATED: SEP 12, 2014 Bitterer, bananig hefiger Antrunk. Test vom 30.12.2006, Gebinde: Glasflasche Noten: 9,11,13,11,13,12 - 11,60

Bottle, 4.8%. The aroma is a bit fruity. Clear shiny golden colour, small white head. The flavour has a little plastic, which fortunately goes away quickly. Thin mouthfeel. Good bready aftertaste, but disappointing.

pivnizub (10763) - Bochum, Porúří, GERMANY - MAR 30, 2005
UPDATED: JUL 7, 2013 Bottle: straw coloured, covered with a thick white fluffy foam, german "ale"; fruity and yeasty nose, light but firm body and not watery at all; soft and gentle, quite low carbonated; the initial sweetish maltiness ends in a slight bitter finish; could be easily mixed up with a good "Kölsch"; well quaffable..... Now (summer 2013) very nicely hopped with - presumabl - fresh hops!

KyotoLefty (10603) - Kyoto, JAPAN - MAR 20, 2010
Draught at the Stiefel-Jurgens Brewpub in Beckum. Sourish aroma and flavor. Again, I think it’s too old. Drinkable, anyhow, though not well defined. Not sure what it wants to be. Boring. Ah, it’s a Kolsch. That makes sense. Not a very good one, at least, not in good condition.

MoritzF (10068) - Ottobrunn, GERMANY - MAR 26, 2005
UPDATED: MAR 27, 2005 (tapped) Clear yellow to golden colour with a medium, lasting head with nice lace. Fruity (quince & banana) and slight malty aroma. Light to medium bodied, it starts with a mouthfull of malts and clear notes of banana, but far away from being sweet. It finishes with a quite dry & slight hoppy bitterness of rather short length. As warm/top fermented and being called a Kölsch type beer by the brewer Mr. Jürgens, it is the best of its kin I know to the east of Cologne. Also available in swing top bottles at the brewery and some shops in the small town of Beckum/Westphalia.

bottle, thanks to MoritzF! Golden colour, decent head. Malty and fruity flavour, hints of apple and herbs. Well-balanced brew.

Erzengel (9334) - Wuppertal, GERMANY - JUL 27, 2013
50cl bottle, directly from the brewery. The beer is golden in colour, the nose is mild, vanilla, a bit lemon. The beer starts mild, with nice fresh aromas of grain, a bit lemon and a taste, that is typical for the brewery but not easy to describe (a bit earthy-mild, a bit vanilla, hey). The body is full, aromatic with quite much hops for the style. Long aftertaste with fresh hops (taste like Hallertauer) and a slightly sweetness. Very mild and creamy. --> Great and interesting brew!

jonas (7985) - Garching b. München, GERMANY - SEP 29, 2006
Bottle, thanks a lot MoritzF! Strong hearher honey and berry aroma (raspberries and earthy strawberries). Golden, wonderfull champagne pearling carbonation, frothy layering head. Light (a little bit too much so IMO) grainy body, elegant aromatic hops, berries and heather again. Bitter earthy herbal finish. Best Kölsch from a bottle to date I think!
