Getrunken beim 1. BTO-Treffen.

The beer in the glass is golden yellow and medium cloudy, with good, fine flat head. It smells yeasty and sour fruity with subtle aroma hops. Starts yeasty, acidic, grassy-hoppy. The aftertaste is almost inedible. Musty-sour, like rotten fruit, to the unpleasant pungent sour. The further course is also like that. Possibly the beer is bad because it has fallen since a few days. I can not really imagine. A second rating will follow, if possible! kappldav123 (6100) - GERMANY - JAN 17, 2011
Bottle looks simple, but good. The beer in the glass not too zippy, nice head. Starts very spicy, a bit grasy, soft-hoppy, modest sweet. Turns then very moldy and soapy, a bit sourish, moldy-grasy. Starts very good, finish is a bit strange... KyotoLefty (10263) - Kyoto, JAPAN - MAR 20, 2010
Draught at the Stiefel-Jurgens Brewpub in Beckum. Fruity, malty, very tasty with good hop balance. The best here by far. I didn’t realize it was an ale--thought it was a clean, fruity pils. fonefan (49294) - VestJylland, DENMARK - MAR 11, 2009

Clear light yellow color with a average, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, white head. Aroma is moderate malty, toasted, offee, butter, light hoppy, flowers, citrus. Flavor is moderate sweet and light to moderate bitter with a long to average duration. Body is medium to light, texture is watery to oily, carbonation is soft.

bottle, thanks to MoritzF! Dark golden colour, large head. Fruity and malty, hoppy as well, but not dry. Much more malty than expected. Has the typical house character. Dry and hoppy finish and aftertaste. Saarlander (1686) - Saarlouis, GERMANY - JAN 3, 2007
Nice gold color to this one, on the sweetish side, caramel, little hop flavor at all, quite malty. ok brew. jonas (7573) - Garching b. München, GERMANY - OCT 3, 2006
Botlle. Aroma has the earthy strawberry house-note I have come to expect. Citric hoppy and light tropical notes as well. Golden, strangely quick failing head.
Grainy and hayish malt base, heather, earthy notes, very dry bitterhop finish.
Dry, flatish mouthfeel. Herbal (juniper) aftertaste. Fairly interresting but not as harmonic as the other brews I tried. ganache (5898) - New Jersey, USA - JUN 12, 2006
Swing-top. Hazy golden pour, lacing and frothy white head. Smells dusty and mildly yeasty. No teeth. Bitterness is restrained and on par with an almost wheaty maltiness. Somewhat floral. Thin/light with a touch of acidity in the throat. Nice hoppiness. There’s not a lot of difference between this and its cousin at the brewery, the Obergäriges Lagerbier. Thanks to MoritzF! UPDATED: DEC 26, 2006 (tapped) Gold yellow colour with small creamy diminishing white head. Very nice aroma of caramellish malts with hops and bananas. Very well balanced taste of malts at the beginning and dry aromatic hops at the end with a good length. A smooth, crispy and lingering Ale. From my point of view the best one of the Stiefel-Jürgens collection. I´d call it a westphalian IPA. As labelled as a Pils, but warm/top fermented though, it is rather a marketing strategy of old Mr. Jürgens, the brewer, here in the land of Warsteiner, Veltins & Co.
