COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Enjoyment of first-rate beer with a pleasant hoppy character. Straw-colored and warm amber glow, pleasantly sparkling with a dry body. Using the aromatic hops from the Mhlviertel region, it entices you with a bouquet of fresh hops and a distinctive bitter finish. 11.4

I have three favorite Pils: Sly Fox, Palaner Pils, and now Ive added Stiegl to the list. I can change on a whim but as of this minute I have to rate Stiegl the best of the crop. I seen a lot of bad ratings on this site for this beer but Pils is a delicate beer and depending on the freshness it can be either great or horrible. I have had Sly Fox and Paulaner that were somewhat old but not past their prime and both were very substandard. One had the aroma of smelly socks and the other just seem to have lost its hop flavor. I was fortunate enough to be able to pick some some fresh Stiegl Pils at Pletchers in State College, PA and they were giving out free glasses to boot. What a deal. I will say this, on almost every pour, the head was rich and creamy when poured into a clean Stiegl Cup (as they call it) and you have to wait a few minutes for it to die down before you can add anymore. For those who complained about the head, either you had a dirty glass or got some old beer. This is the way German beer used to be until they started to lighten it up and water it down like the Buds and Millers of the world. Of course, this isnt a German Beer, but an Austria and perhaps that partially explains why it is so good.

I drank this beer at several oportunities in different trip in this lovely country. It is a classical pils, well balanced and perfect during the summet after a long walk. The color is yellow and gold, average carbonation, thin and white foam, fairly bitter, hop, herbal side, malty, next one please to stay healthy!!!!!!

500 ml bottle. Pours straw-yellow with a white head. The aroma is intense, grassy withe some malt. Medium body with a lively carbonation, medium bitterness and very light sweetness. The flavor is mainly pale malt with some light fruit notes (unripe grapes) and grass.

From backlog. Pale yellow with thick frothy head. Light malt aroma (biscuit). Buttery malt with hop finish. Light bodies. Everything one would want in a pils.

Tap. Clear golden color with white head and a high carbonation. Aroma is mildly grassy, some citrus leafs, orange, Fruchtgummi, and a slight malty/grainy sweetness. Taste is grassy, mil malty and grainy sweetness, Fruchtgummi and citrus/orange flavours again. Clean and crisp, with a rather bitter dry finish. Solid hoppiness, solid crispness. Soft but high carbonation. Not a bad Pils at all, I think this is underrated.

J aika heikoksi tekeleeksi, eik yll lhellekn lajityyppins parhaimmistoa. Turhake Alkossa.

Pours light yellow with a soap bubble white head. Aroma of malt grain, hay, maybe a little toast. Flavor is light sweet, malty, grain, hay, grass, toast. Medium body, average carbonation. I dont get the low ratings for this beer. This beer completely nails the style, right malt, right malt, infinitely drinkable, delicious.
