C&C bottle. Poured just about clear bright golden with a dense, well-retained white head. The aroma picked up bright lemon zest, cloves, other white spices, and some floral notes over interesting herbal grains (spelt?) and lesser bready malts.. bright, fresh, and interesting. The flavor found similar stuff.. tangy lemon, white pepper, cloves, and again a bit of floral character over bread, biscuit, and toasted pale malts.. herbs, lemon zest, and slight tangy metallic notes on the engaging finish. Medium-bodied with big carbonation on the palate.. filling.. this felt good the whole way through. Huhzubendah (3705) - Washington DC, USA - DEC 7, 2012
Bottle shared by Thorpe429. Thanks Mike.
The beer appears a hazy straw yellow hue with a quarter inch of white head. The aroma offers floral notes, pepper, yeast, grass. An abundance of cracked pepper in the flavor, along with some earth notes and a yeast presence. The beer is light bodied with moderate carbonation. Overall, this was decent, but not among my favorite offerings from Stillwater.

Bottle: Poured a cloudy dirty beige color ale with a huge foamy head with good retention and some good lacing. Aroma consists of rustic malt with some fresh cut hay and some light funky ester. Taste is a wonderful mix between some rustic malt notes with nice dry floral notes with fresh-cut hay and light funky notes. Body is quite full with great carbonation and no apparent alcohol. Perfect mix between complexity and drinkability. Prokroustis (745) - Thessaloniki, GREECE - NOV 21, 2012
Cloudy light amber body with a huge white head. Interesting yeasty aroma with lemon, grass, orange, cereal, caramel, wheat and a slight burned plastic note. Yeasty, spicy and a bit dusty flavour with lemon, cereal, honey. Very enjoyable. Bricks (1124) - Delaware, USA - NOV 17, 2012
Sour ale-like which was thin and fairly funky.... another belgian to steer clear of. Not recommended.

Very very very big vast white head, changes slowly into a medium sized airy white head on top of a hazy yellow colored beer.
Smell wheat, yeast, hops, citrus, hint of orange, sharper tones like sharper grains and sharper plant ish tones, hint of resin and (sharper) herbs.
Taste is smoother than expected with a mix of yeast, hops, citrus, lemon, dough, light bitter, floral, herbs, light sharp and something light wood ish. Not complex but still pretty deep. The bitterness tends to go to the bit more nasty side, but doesn’t get there.
Aftertaste yeast, grass, citrus hoppy and herby.
Low carbo, soft and lightly blown mouthfeel, good medium body and a light creamy texture.
Decent beer, yeasty but decent yeasty. Niko100 (2912) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - NOV 7, 2012
Hazy amber/gold color; Medium body; Aroma of sweet malt, yeast, floral, & bread; Flavor of slight sweet malt, rich yeast, grain, light fruit, and spice; Finish is slightly tart/sour; Fairly enjoyable. stchloe (1067) - Portland, Oregon, USA - NOV 3, 2012
A good saison, though it kind of smells like a domestic at first. Nice head otherwise, very yeasty with a complex grain/malt sweetness. Tmoney99 (14455) - Cincinnati, Ohio, USA - OCT 23, 2012
Bottle caged and Corked. Poured a cloudy amber color with an average frothy white head that mostly lasted with excellent lacing. Moderate to heavy sour and earthy aroma. Medium to full body with a smooth texture and soft carbonation. Medium to heavy yeasty sweet flavor with a medium to heavy sour & sweet tingly finish of moderate duration. Solid drinkable brew.
