On tap at bukowski tavern. Nice frothy head, dissipates soon after drinking. Smells like vanilla, caramel, and typical Belgian quad characteristics. Lighter palate, alcohol not overpowering. Tastes like it smells, with some more pronounced overripe fruit or maybe some dried figs.

New Beer Distributors, NYC ($9): Pours blackish brown with a brownish head. Aroma is whiskey, chocolate, roasted malts, and some nice yeast. Taste is rather light for a stout. Nice light whiskey taste... really not overwhelming. Chocolate is pretty nice here. This is a really subtle example of a barrel-aged beer in my opinion. Sweetness is done just right. Slightly boozy aftertaste.

Bottle shared at a tasting. Thanks TimE. Pours a pitch black with a little bit of head that dissipates. Huge oak forward nose that just doesn’t quit. Quite like being in a nice sento or onsen really. Very oak driven on the palate with some vanilla and roasted malt notes coming out. The bourbon comes out on the finish but isn’t overly bitter by any means. Very smooth and oaky. Good stuff.
