12oz bottle purchased at west lakeview liquors.... uncapping yields a lively carbonated medium hazy yellowish brown hue and topped with a large fluffy creamy white head... aroma is filled with brett and a dry like earthiness. grapefruit and floral notes come into play with a touch of grass on the backend... flavors offer much of the same with bretty, tropical fruit, grass while expressing an earthiness through the beginning, middle, and end. lively mouthfell all the way through with an earthy grassy bitter sensation on the backend. finishes dry while being accented with a fluffy yet full body. softer yet tingly carbonation pairs well with the aforementioned. not bad.

Quiet vessel opening but man did it come rushing out for the first few seconds. Glass was handy and very little spillage. Head is surprisingly small for all that action. white in color with a creamy appearance, fairly lasting. Hazy gold colored ale. Peppery, spicey nose with notes of lumber and slightly vinous. Body is lightl medium, soft carbonation, lightly oily, acidic. Gentle wood flavors, wine and lightly tart with light funkyness. Nothing over the top mind you. Little apple and some earthy notes as well. Dry, lightly tart finish. Decent. Bottle from statelineliquors.

Bottle. Pours cloudy yellow/orange, with a small, white head. Aroma is citrus, funk, spices, and yeast. Flavor is pepper, citrus fruit, yeast, white wine, and a little alcohol. Medium body, with a dry finish. Flavor doesn’t have as much of the funkiness as the aroma.

11.2oz bottle. *** MAJOR GUSHER ALERT *** Glad I opened this up in the kitchen...1/2 the bottle gushed over my counter top. Cloudy golden with a large sized head. Aromas of spices, fruity, citrus, wood, and some funk. Tastes of spice, fruity, funk, and a lighter vinous quality. Fizzy and dry body.

11.2 oz bottle. Hazy orange with white foam that slowly billows out before pouring. Nose is super funky and aromatic lemon peel, oak, sage and grass with hints of chardonnay. Medium light with a lively sparkle. Taste is chardonnay and grass with a touch of citrus honey. Vinous, herbal and lightly bitter with emerging sour. Elegant but lacking some complexity.

Pours gold into a snifter. Off-white head with medium retention recedes to skim surface leaving scant trailing sheets. Oak, chardonnay and hay aromas. Crisp with sweet and sour grapes front to back. Lasting yeasty oak finish.

A very nice saison indeed. It pours a light amber with a big frothy head that my dog Millie lapped up for me. The aroma is very fruity with a big amount of wonderful funkiness. The flavor has the same with a nicely layered feel. The wood comes in at the end along with a bit of wine, very subtle. The finish is extremely dry, very refreshing. I will have to check, but I think I liked this a little more than the original.

Bottle shared by alexsdad06. Poured hazy golden color with a large frothy white head that was lasting with good lacing. Moderate to heavy yeast, wood and chassis fruit aroma. Medium to full body with a sticky texture and flat carbonation. Medium complex sour & sweet flavor with a medium sweet & sour finish of moderate duration. Solid complex drinkable beer.

bottle. be ready to pour, as this was about to overflow! holy smokes. pours a hazy creamed yellow with a small frothy offwhite head. potent aroma of floral, fruity, pineapple. sweet melons. earth, cobweb basement funk with a strong limeaid presence. quite fruity. candy and bubblegum. gummy bears. okay. taste is light lemony sourness, touch of bandaids, medicine. some rotten fruit and melons. infected but not in a good way. complex, but some offputing rot and toasted boozy melon fruit, as well as a weird herbal lime flavors that were not my cup of tea. wine barrel is very much an afterthought, if even noticeable. unique, complex, interesting beer. but too much bubblegum candy sweetness for my liking.

GTAEgeek (2218) - Colorado Springs, Colorado, USA - SEP 22, 2011
11.2 oz bottle. Pours bright, hazy, orange with a medium, white, head. The aroma is lemons, wheat, apples, caramel, and some definite funky and sour yeast. The flavor is strong, citrus sweetness up front, with a long, sour finish. The palate is light to medium, sticky, acidic and very astringent. The carbonation is light, but adds a nice liveliness. The aftertaste is long, bitter and sour. Overall, this is a very interesting beer, but the elements clash with slightly jarring results. Interesting, but not worth $10.
