50cl bottle at Probus Wines, Dublin. Near-black pour with thin tan head and plenty of lacing. The aroma gives a huge hit of Brett - funky and pungent - as well as some hints of roasted malt and light vinous notes. Taste is again dominated by the Brett - plenty of tart, almost-cheesy fruitiness. Dark roast coffee and dark chocolate emerge from under the heavy blanket of wild yeastiness, as does a tiny bit of tannic red wine flavour. Surprisingly light bodied and easy drinking. I’m a big Brett fan, so I enjoyed this and didn’t mind that the yeast dominated. I’ve got another bottle that I’ve stored in better conditions than this one was, so I’ll crack that open soon and rerate - hopefully it’ll give more of the red wine barrel. chimpgibbon (560) - London, Bedfordshire, ENGLAND - JUN 15, 2013

Bottle from Kihoskh, provided by Skinnyviking for the Absalon tasting session ’13. Devil-black body, tan-coloured head, spotty lacing. Smell of red wine mixed with dark malts. Vinous flavour joined by malts and a touch of lactose. Tart and sweet ending. Quite well balanced. Bottle. Deep dark brown color. Roast, caramel and some vinous notes in the aroma. Medium to full bodied. Prominent vinous flavor, slightly oaky, overpowering other flavors, like hints of roast and caramel. Some soft acidic notes. Tannines. Very nice brew. Sweet sourish, decent bitterness. Quite dry.
Its good quality, nicely balanced and very drinkable, thou red wine note for me is not very pleasant.

Dark brown black with fluffy tan head. Tart, sour cherries, tonic water, burnt toast, vanilla and touch of soy sauce. Full bodied, light carbonation, initial sour hit, dry roast barley, tart red fruit, slightly vegetal. Sourness takes some getting used to then manure/ rotting hay of Brett appears. V interesting and complex but the taste too abrasive to enjoy.

wine is pretty dominant in the smell, as well as the oak, but not overkill . sour touch as well
taste definetly has that sour-touch. dont think of a geuze, though!
not realy thick. wine character is definetly there . i get a bit of that burnt malt in the aftertaste, if i realy focus on it ..
its, ok, but not what i expect from a stout ... than again, this is aged on wine barreld, so if you like that, you shall like this one
