Beermack (725) - London, Bedfordshire, ENGLAND - JUN 27, 2013
50cl bottle at Probus Wines, Dublin. Near-black pour with thin tan head and plenty of lacing. The aroma gives a huge hit of Brett - funky and pungent - as well as some hints of roasted malt and light vinous notes. Taste is again dominated by the Brett - plenty of tart, almost-cheesy fruitiness. Dark roast coffee and dark chocolate emerge from under the heavy blanket of wild yeastiness, as does a tiny bit of tannic red wine flavour. Surprisingly light bodied and easy drinking. I’m a big Brett fan, so I enjoyed this and didn’t mind that the yeast dominated. I’ve got another bottle that I’ve stored in better conditions than this one was, so I’ll crack that open soon and rerate - hopefully it’ll give more of the red wine barrel.

chimpgibbon (560) - London, Bedfordshire, ENGLAND - JUN 15, 2013
Fudge and balsamic and sharp wine tang almost pull this one off but not quite for me. The wine lingers too long and is astringent by the end. Nonetheless a respectable effort.

Rune (13647) - Tromsø, NORWAY - JUN 14, 2013
Bottle from Kihoskh, provided by Skinnyviking for the Absalon tasting session ’13. Devil-black body, tan-coloured head, spotty lacing. Smell of red wine mixed with dark malts. Vinous flavour joined by malts and a touch of lactose. Tart and sweet ending. Quite well balanced. Partially pleasing (hotel room, Copenhagen 26.05.2013).

bierkoning (13746) - La Tropica/Doarp, NETHERLANDS - JUN 11, 2013
Bottle. Deep dark brown color. Roast, caramel and some vinous notes in the aroma. Medium to full bodied. Prominent vinous flavor, slightly oaky, overpowering other flavors, like hints of roast and caramel. Some soft acidic notes. Tannines. Very nice brew.

Skinnyviking (9731) - Copenhagen, DENMARK - JUN 11, 2013
Bottle. Medium high off-white lasting head. Pitch balck body. Sour cherries milk acidic aroma and flavor with a vineous sour note. Low carbonation. Long sour finishy.

sunevdj (4137) - Copenhagen OE, DENMARK - JUN 8, 2013
Bottle, probably at Ølbutikken Zwanze Day 2012. Pours black with a beige head. Sweet and quite dry. Aromas of toasted matls and wine. Aslo aromas of brett and hints of raisins, soy sauce and tobacco. Medium to full bodied. Soft carbonation. Long bitter finish with residual sugars.

Vells (1967) - Rīga, LATVIA - MAY 18, 2013
Clear deep dark brown, almost black with medium to thin brownish stable head. Lacing nicely.
Aroma.. roasted malts, chocolate, dark fruits, red wine, wood
Sweet sourish, decent bitterness. Quite dry.
Its good quality, nicely balanced and very drinkable, thou red wine note for me is not very pleasant.

Beersiveknown (5303) - NORTHERN IRELAND - MAY 15, 2013
Bottle at home from drinkstore
Dark brown black with fluffy tan head. Tart, sour cherries, tonic water, burnt toast, vanilla and touch of soy sauce. Full bodied, light carbonation, initial sour hit, dry roast barley, tart red fruit, slightly vegetal. Sourness takes some getting used to then manure/ rotting hay of Brett appears. V interesting and complex but the taste too abrasive to enjoy.

sfhodense (4788) - Odense NØ, DENMARK - APR 28, 2013
