Clear dark black colour with a average, frothy, good lacing, mostly diminishing, off-white to beige head. Aroma is moderate to heavy malty, roasted, caramel, brett, red wine, wood. Flavour is moderate to heavy sweet, light to moderate acidic and bitter with a long duration, red wine, brett, dark malt, roasted, dark fruit, fruity citrus. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft.

VIII. Black colour, small beige head. Aroma is tart wood, some herbs and wooden notes. Flavour is liquorice, tart wood, some liquorice and quite big on the sourness. Interesting attempt, but a bit too strange for me.

On tap at the King William IV - Witterfest. Opaque black beer, little tan head. Light softish palate. Mild dark malts, a little coffee and cream. Loads of brett but mellow and well integrated. Soft and semi dry finish with a nice red wine fruity taste. Nice beer!

Bottled at PBF. Near black, small beige head. Tart vinous nose qwith some slight licorice shining through. Medium-full bodied with rounded spritzy mouthfeel. Intense vinous woosy flavours. Lightly acetic with notwe of coffee. Dominated by the barrel flavours.
