4oz pour at Meridian Pint pours a transparent, deep gold with some cloudy white head. Nose is crazy, Islay scotch, salty, herbal, white grape. Flavor is sweet, herbal, lemon, thyme, sage, light candy, sugar, sort of weird. Full bodied, lightly sweet, astringent finish. rudolf (2360) - Buffalo, New York, USA - DEC 11, 2011
Tap @ Blue Monk. Hazy amber, off white head. Nose is woody lemon, nice herbal (rosemary-ish) with some lemon character, a little doughy malt, dark fruit skins. Flavor is a bit of caramel, quickly overtaken by yeasty & woody notes. Lemon, a bit meaty and firmly bitter. Great body. swoopjones (7020) - Buffalo, New York, USA - NOV 26, 2011
draft at Blue Monk, Buffalo. orange golden pour, aroma & flavor are heaviy influenced by the oak, some light grpefruit bitterness under the dominate oak. Didnt really gather too much Belgian features. Decent mouthfeel, good flavor but oak really overshadows the rest Nickls (2589) - Alexandria, Virginia, USA - JUL 12, 2011
Cask, Churchkey. Light marigold yellow orange with a bubbly white head that looks exactly like the base brew. Aroma just seems a bit more subdued on the hop side of things, but a light woodiness pervades in the aroma with citrus and fruit as well. Touch of oak and vanilla comes along with the hoppiness, pears too. Slick body, with subtle carbonation. I liked the base brew much more, along with the different dry-hopped versions that were available on cask alongside the release. argo0 (14127) - Washington DC, USA - JAN 5, 2011
Cask. Medium off-white head atop cloudy amber body. Aroma is medium sweet, orange/grapefruit, some vanilla, pineapple. Taste is moderately sweet, orange, pineapple, some grapefruit, light wood, Belgian spicy. Medium body, some resin, light acidity. As with the base beer, much more IPA than Belgian. Not too different from the base beer either.
