3.2 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Pours a golden/copper, decent head. Toasty malts and flowers in the nose. Flavor has the light farmhouse funk, with some hay and spice. Olde Bay didn’t carry through to the forefront, but there is a slight saltiness and spice to the beer.
The beer is very pale yellow with a half inch of white head that leaves some decent lacing on the glass. The aroma brings some yeast, coriander, spice, floral notes. Seasoning comes through more in the flavor than the aroma. Well done. Tasty and enjoyable. Exceeded my expectations.

12oz bottle: pours a clear bright golden with a large airy froth of white head. Has a lightly sweet biscuity malty nose with some floral hop notes and light yeasty esters. Starts with a lot of effervescent carbonation and light sweetness with good bitter balance and subtle peppery notes before a drier finish. Doesn’t seem to have a lot of Old Bay character to it, but is a pretty good saison nonetheless. yourefragile (140) - Washington, Washington DC, USA - OCT 21, 2012
Stubby 11.2 oz bottle purchased at Max’s on Stillwater Sunday event of BBW. Served in a Stillwater wine glass.
Pours a light, clear/hazed golden color with a frothy, retentive white head. Nose of corn, amber malt, soap, light spice, butter, and fruit. Flavor has held up better than the nose, somewhat resembles a saison with an earthy and yeasty saison taste throughout with nearly all traces of Olde Bay spice vanished. Lemon and grass, light pepper and some vegetable like stalk chewiness. Fresh this was a lot more interesting and enjoyable (this is not a surprise). If you still have a bottle... go Maryland! 33cl bottle. Enormous off-white head atop crystal clear straw body. Aroma is medium sweet, white pepper, some coriander, some spicy, straw, faint banana. Taste is moderately sweet, coriander, some pepper, Belgian yeast, light Old Bay, straw. Light-medium body, some effervescence, quite drinkable. This poured a murky yellow color with a white head. Aroma was of yeast and spices, some dusty hops too. Flavor was much the same, spicey and dry, but didnt really get any specific olde bay notes.

Had this at Ratebeer’s Horny Devil Pittsburgh Winter Tasting 2012. Big thanks to Kevin for this gem. Some farmy notes on the olfactory. Slight hazy pale yellow. Very thin creamy head. Lots of very good sizzling co2 in this beer, makes it fun. Has some farm in the taste too. A rather light well behaved beer that comes across somewhat refined. Just enough beer bitter personality to let you know it is beer, well controlled and never over the top. An overall good beer tasting experience. Barely any bitterness on the finish, clean and crisp. BIG THANKS mrchopin! lithy (2996) - Capital of Appalachia, Pennsylvania, USA - FEB 26, 2012
Pale yellow-white, white foam, lots of it. Dry aroma, toast, light malt. Taste is light spicing, I wouldn’t call it Old Bay really, light crackery malt. brokensail (16449) - Dublin, California, USA - FEB 15, 2012
Pours a pale straw color with a tall white head. There is a nice spice and herbal aroma to the beer along with a subtle funkiness and a touch of fruit. Lots of yeast and grass aromas with a solid pale/cracker malt base. The flavor is lightly sweet with bread and cracker malt flavors. Lots of spice and yeast flavors with a subtle fruitiness. Bottle picked up at Max’s 2011 Baltimore Beer Week Stillwater event. Served in a Mikasa tulip. Reviewed from notes.
Pours a nice golden-copper color with a good white head and a bit of lacing on the way down. The nose carries some light pepper and spice plus a mild fruitiness. A bit of grain as well. The flavor has some spice, though nothing that is easily identifiable as Olde Bay seasoning. Touch of fruit. Light body with some spritzy carbonation and a nice dry spice to the finish. Quite tasty.
