The Stillwater Sensory Series is a collaboration between Stillwater Artisanal and singular musical artists. In this first collaboration, Stillwater works with Lower Dens to make an ale based on an interpretation of their song, "In the End is the Beginning." On the bottle itself, a QR code will link to an exclusive Lower Dens performance of the song. Ultimately, this is a true artistic collaboration that aims to create a full sensory experience - sound, sight, smell, touch, and taste. www.stillwatersensory.com

A hazed golden saison with a thick frothy lacing white head. In aroma, sweet fruity malt with light Brett, light honey notes, coriander, light perfumy notes, nice. In mouth, a nice sweet fruity malt with banana esters, cloves, light mineral notes, light oxidation, OK.

Visual: Pours pale golden orage with a smallish lasting 2mm head, decent fine micro retention, clusters of very fast active streams.

Nose: yeasty wheat malt sour funk, cotton candy/hibiscus, red field berries. (lvl-8)-pungency

Attack: crisp-creamy-thicker

Mid-palate: brightness, hints of chamomile, (lvl-5-sweetness), toffee-toasty barley malt, dissipating short sour-tangy

hibiscus berry-like Finish: bready honey, gentle wheat malt roughness, very subtle bitter hops

Summary: Wow this is a fantastic spice/herb beer. Super sippable, seamless transitions, good complexity and depth along with a smooth mouthfeel. Every sip offers a different texture/taste depending on what you focus on. Although it was a bit $$$, Im glad I tried it.

On tap at CBC 2013. Pours a hazy pale yellow with a small white head. Quite sweet with a light bitterness. Light fruity aromas of apples and bananas. Also hints of Belgian yeast. Medium bodied. Medium carbonation. Dry finish.

Hazy orange color with white head. Aroma is fresh, lemony and a bit spicy. Taste seems slightly tart at first but it isnt, just a bit astringent. Its mostly spicy, yeasty and slightly bitter on the finish. Body is medium-light with high effervescence. Overall I dont like it very much, the spices are a bit too strong, the body too light and there is some residual sweetness that doesnt integrate very well.

375 ml. bottle shared with my Boo; from Liquor Barn (Springhurst). Aroma: Moderate lemon peel with light wildflower presence balanced by a little musty basement. Appearance: Opaque yellow gold pour with a foamy white tuft that settles into a firm skin. Flavor: Musty and floral notes are more prevalent up front, but in a more muted way. Lemon comes in more midway through, and takes on an unexpected honey character; the finish is semi-dry and endures a bit. Palate: Medium body, sticky texture, soft carbonation, lingering finish. Overall: Not a world beater, but a nice enough one to try either way. Not sure what hibiscus does here.

Rating #1176 13.07.2014 - Bottle from CBI. Pours the colour of a bubbly golden ale with a white foam that bubbles away quickly. Aroma is orange zest, and hibiscus flower. Extremely floral and potent. This floral sweetness lingers into the finish and is slightly overpowering. Cool tropical, floral beer. I tried it with the song playing - i dont feel it added to aromatic or palate experience but its a fun concept.

Orange/gold pour with a decent puffy white head. Wheaty, herby, floral and yeasty notes. Taste is wheat-beerish, yeasty, slightly sour, floral (which I assume is hibiscus, dont think Ive ever tasted it though). Finishes with that sour yeasty note. I dont love it but its interesting I guess.
