COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The Stillwater Sensory Series is a collaboration between Stillwater Artisanal and singular musical artists. In this first collaboration, Stillwater works with Lower Dens to make an ale based on an interpretation of their song, "In the End is the Beginning." On the bottle itself, a QR code will link to an exclusive Lower Dens performance of the song. Ultimately, this is a true artistic collaboration that aims to create a full sensory experience - sound, sight, smell, touch, and taste. www.stillwatersensory.com

375 ml brown bottle with some visible sediment in the bottom. Uncapped with a fizz and soon foams up over the top, but it poured adequately sedately. A: clear golden hue with a semi-durable white head. Aroma: moderately strong, with too much suggestion of over-ripe, slightly rotten fruit. Some floral tones too. Flavor: much better and less funky than the aroma suggests. Some bready and nutty notes in addition to ripe soft fruits and lemon. Just a touch of hibiscus showing in the finish and aftertaste. Feel: medium-light body with medium+ carbonation. Overall: b careful when uncapping and get past the aroma for an interesting and pleasing ale.

glennmastrange (2859) - hobe sound, Florida, USA - JAN 5, 2017
UPDATED: JAN 5, 2017 Bottle. Moderate malt aromas of caramel, and cereal, light flowers for the hops, light to moderate dough for the yeast, with notes of dried fruit, over ripe pineapple and honey. Head is average sized, frothy, slightly off-white, with good lacing and is mostly lasting. Color is murky dark amber. Flavor starts lightly sweet and moderately acidic, then finishes lightly acidic and bitter, and carries on with more sweetness. Palate is medium, oily with a small bubble but lively carbonation. A maltier and sweeter Saison type beer, but I do like this Spice Beer

A hazed golden saison with a thick frothy lacing white head. In aroma, sweet fruity malt with light Brett, light honey notes, coriander, light perfumy notes, nice. In mouth, a nice sweet fruity malt with banana esters, cloves, light mineral notes, light oxidation, OK.

Visual: Pours pale golden orage with a smallish lasting 2mm head, decent fine micro retention, clusters of very fast active streams.

Nose: yeasty wheat malt sour funk, cotton candy/hibiscus, red field berries. (lvl-8)-pungency

Attack: crisp-creamy-thicker

Mid-palate: brightness, hints of chamomile, (lvl-5-sweetness), toffee-toasty barley malt, dissipating short sour-tangy

hibiscus berry-like Finish: bready honey, gentle wheat malt roughness, very subtle bitter hops

Summary: Wow this is a fantastic spice/herb beer. Super sippable, seamless transitions, good complexity and depth along with a smooth mouthfeel. Every sip offers a different texture/taste depending on what you focus on. Although it was a bit $$$, I’m glad I tried it.

ciocanelu (2465) - Timisoara, ROMANIA - DEC 23, 2015
Hazy orange color with white head. Aroma is fresh, lemony and a bit spicy. Taste seems slightly tart at first but it isn’t, just a bit astringent. It’s mostly spicy, yeasty and slightly bitter on the finish. Body is medium-light with high effervescence. Overall I don’t like it very much, the spices are a bit too strong, the body too light and there is some residual sweetness that doesn’t integrate very well.

UncleKorm (1315) - Colorado Springs, Colorado, USA - NOV 15, 2015
Bottle poured a slightly hazy golden hue w/ large creamy white head. Moderate funky citrus aromas. Initial flavor is light sweet w/ a moderate bitter finish. Tastes are kiwi, hay and funk. Light bodied. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
