Draft at Alla Spina. Pours a deep brown, near black with a thin but dense beige head. Nose of dark chocolate, wheat, roast, a faint sour note. Medium to light body, pretty easy drinking, medium carbonation. Sweet malt flavor with a dry finish. Very low astringency ScipioA (405) - Boston, Massachusetts, USA - DEC 1, 2013
Opaque black with just a little head. Spicy herbal notes on the aroma along with some of roasted smells I get from stouts. Much stronger roasted profile in the taste along with some fruity flavors. Sadly there is a dirty, cheesey undertone to the flavor that really distracts. Dry and light palate is fairly refreshing like a cola, but the carbonation feels harsh on the tongue. Not a very good beer, pretty disappointed. snoworsummer (6076) - baltimore, Maryland, USA - NOV 15, 2013
From a bottle. Pours medium/dark brown with a creamy beige head. Tastes earthy, musky, like resin, grapes, grass, malt, woody. Dry alcohol feel. Low/medium body and low carbonation. Smells like alcohol, cloves, bubblegum, banana. sonnycheeba (6360) - Federal Hill, Baltimore, Maryland, USA - NOV 15, 2013
Bottle. Pours dark brown with creamy beige head. Aroma is cereal and toasted malts, floral and grassy notes, dates, spice, light herbs, and light coffee. Flavor is smooth bready malts with good supporting floral notes, plums, light espresso, and faint toast; dry finish. Medium body and carbonation. jcnielsen (3416) - Charlotte, North Carolina, USA - NOV 14, 2013
Bottle. Pours a black color with tan head. Roasty, malty, slight metallic aromas. Creamy, roasty, malty flavors. Its hard to ignore the metallic aroma and flavor in this beer.

Thin roasty murky saison. Nothing really works together here. The roastiness, saison type yeast fight with each other and are not compliments at all. Iphonephan (7283) - Jackson Hole/McLean, Virginia, USA - NOV 1, 2013
From a 12 oz bottle shared at home. Pours a clear cola brown with an ecru head. Aroma of toasted nuts. Flavors of tart cherry and smoky wood. Light to medium bodied. Moderate carbonation. Crisp roasty finish. Ernest (7822) - Boulder, Colorado, USA - OCT 31, 2013
Head is initially average sized, frothy, light brown, mostly diminishing.
Body is dark brown to black.
Aroma is moderately malty (roasted grain, husks / nut shells, cocoa powder), with notes of sour apple, random vegetable matter, anise.
Flavor is moderately sweet, moderately acidic, lightly bitter.
Finish is lightly sweet, moderately acidic, moderately bitter, slightly unclean.
Light to medium body, watery texture, lively carbonation.
Ugh...very disappointing. Crummy malt character and a sour odor...surprise, fairly sour and dirty in the mouth as well. Total drain pour, which is sad since Two Roads is normally a lot better of a brewery than this would lead you to believe...maybe it’s just a poor recipe (i.e., Stillwater’s fault), maybe it’s somewhat infected, but it’s bad any way you look at it. Bottle. Totally black color, dark brown head that settles to an edge. Aroma of bitter coffee and unsweetened cocoa. Taste has burnt espresso, licorice. Very tasty. Bule (2256) - California, USA - OCT 29, 2013
12oz bottle pours a brown color with some head. Mild burnt malt and some belgian yeast flavors. A little watery tasting.
