On tap @ Beer Temple (from notes): Pale blond color, hazy. Big snow white head. Aromas: herbs & spices, sweet/malt, sweet fruit, a bit dusty. Flavor is medium sweet and lightly fruity sourish. Rather thin on the palate. Finishes with spices and medium bitterness. A bit weird.

On draft at the Livermore Saloon. It pours clear gold with a white head. The aroma is citrusy with lemon, grapefruit, orange and hints of pepper. The flavor is mildly soapy with oranges and tangerines with hints of clove and pepper. Not as aggressive as Id hoped.

UPDATED: AUG 20, 2012 poured into a tulip from a 750ml bottle. Pours a very light gold color that is clear as well. There is a very frothy and big head. very citrus based aromas of papaya, navel oranges, spices and lemons. medium bodied with very good flavors of lemons, floral and oranges. There is maybe a bit too much carbonation on this but the feel is very good. A very good saison. Very citrus based as opposed to funky. Smooth with a good feel, this is very enjoyable.

On tap. Hazy golden brown, no head. Fruity aroma, loads of pear. Spicy, dry on the tongue, sweet fruitiness and a yeasty bite. Really carbonated. Overall, pretty good.

Bottle:   Goldenish amber, moderate to large sudsy off-white head, nice lacing.   Musty bready aroma, somewhat dank and sweaty.   Barnish and grassy on the tongue, very dull floral aspect.   A little spritzy.   While dull it does have a bright grassy aspect, just the floral side is dull.   Body and mouthfeel are moderate.   A little more lively on the backside, but still has this sweaty sock aspect.   Remains musty and a little basement like all the way to the finish.   Not the floral sharp type of saison I like, but otherwise its decent.

Palate was medium bodied with medium carbonation. Flavours were spices, white wine, mild sourness, hops, malts and bitterness. Aftertaste was spicy and bitter. Nice saison with white wine twist.
