It poured a cloudy yellow/orange color with a fluffy white head. The aroma was lemony, spicey, peppery and very wheaty. The taste was malty sweet, lots of malt, with some minor bitterness. A decent Saison.

bottle @ RBBWG 2012 thanks to tderoeck. Hazy blond coloured beer with some very light carbonation and a rather short white head. Very herby and hoppy infused aroma. Full palate. Finish is rather soft herby with a sweet bitter aftertaste. This is a rather good one.

1pt 9oz bottle. Opens with a clear light wheat color with a massive rocky white head that drops off to 1/2 inch. Extensive lacing. As the head drops off, a steady stream of tiny bubbles (from myriad sources at the bottom of the glass) provide constant motion. The taste is bittersweet caramel wheat with yeast and toasty notes. At the midpoint of the bottle, I swirled and the clear wheat turned cloudy with the addition of the lees, and the taste turned toward more yeast. Overall, a solid drink that is worth a repeat.

Sampled @ RBBWG Antwerpen. Courtesy of tderoeck. Cloudy, hazy, yellow to orange color, small white head. Smell malts and some hops. Taste malts, hops, very bitter. Fizzy carbonation, medium body.

Good, but short-lived cream coloured head over veiled orange-ochre beer. Oranges, bitter oranges, faintly spiced and a slight aromatic-perfumed streak. Bitterish, spiced and framed with a root-bitter surrounding. Quite slick, light to medium bodied. Not very special, if easily drinkable ("quaffable" pour les beefsteacks)

Bottle at Sorbon. Hazy, yellow liquid with medium white head. Aroma of lemons, apples, spices, funk, light malt, red berries and earthy hops. Taste is light sweet, light bitter and fruity. A bit tart. Light to medium bodied with high carbonation. Refreshing and good example of the style.

Chuckaduck (674) - Highland Heights, Kentucky, USA - JAN 8, 2012
Pours a cloudy yellow-orange with a fluffy, egg-white head. Aroma is yeast, herbs, champagne, bread, some sweetness and citrus. Flavor is warm; bread, yeast and light bitter orange peel finish. Very full bodied. Some lacing. Syrupy mouth coating and a nice mouth feel. Very drinkable.

([email protected], rated 2011-11-26) Hazy golden with a small, lasting head. Pale-malty, slightly tart and fruity aroma. Flavor is fresh, sour-malty, orange-fruity, and quite Tripel Karmeliet -like after warming up a bit. Medium to full body, slightly fizzy but balanced CO2. Very clean and refreshing, balanced Saison. Stillwater really seems to master this style!

On tap at Jackie-Os, served in a goblet. Mostly clear orange color, a thin off-white head. Bit of lace. Nice sweet zesty taste, yet a creamier body than you’d expect. Light, but sharp carbonation, nice spice aftertaste. Coriander, lemon peel, I think. Very refreshing and enjoyable, in any case
