UPDATED: DEC 28, 2010 Bottle. Hazed orange beer sporting very large, rocky and soapy off-white head. pungent nose of straw, pineapple, baked apple, and unripe berry with a buttery element underneath. Spritzy and effervescent mouthfeel. Full body of juicy flavors...some sweetness but rounded out by the straw-like character of the yeast profile. Some orange zest flavors in the finish as well. I mean, if youre going to do a saison, this is surely the way to do it...would be nice to have a touch of brett or something funky in there as well as this seems to be the perfect beer for it...but its still damn good without it. Very clean...a bit overcarbonated and gas-inducing, but i suppose it goes well with the bright, refreshing flavor profile, so is all goood.

22oz bottle pours a hazy golden-orange body with a thick, bubbly white head that thins pretty quickly. Aroma is citrus -- mostly lemon and orange -- and yeast. Flavor follows aroma, but with more pronounce barnyard notes. Mouthfeel is crisp and lively. A wonderfully done saison.

750 ml bottle. Served in a tulip glass, the beer pours a cloudy golden/orange color with a couple inch frothy off-white head. Head retention and lacing are both very good. Aroma is lemon peel, bready/grainy malt, peppery spice, and a bit of clove and grassy hops. I pick up a strong herbal flavor in this brew, along with some lemon peel, peppery spice, grain/bready malt, bananas, and some grassy hops. Very tasty brew. Mouthfeel/body is medium, its dry and well carbonated. The soft carbonation makes this easy to drink, and quite refreshing. I think this is a good overall brew, Id definitely buy this again.

750ml bottle from K&L Redwood City. 1 inch of beer and 6 inches of head (thats what she said) pours out of the bottle into the glass. After awhile it settles down to foamy lace. Great aroma of hay, barnyard, floral hops, and grain. The flavor is also very good. Pale malt and almost no malty sweetness. Slight hop bitterness and great barnyard funk. Awesome feel on this one. Extremely lively carbonation, medium body, and perfect dry mouthfeel. An awesome saison overall. These guys are really impressing me so far.

My Bottom Line:
This wise Saison provides a stupefying mlange of spicy, doughy yeast, slender cereals and a tropical hoppy twist, all in a well dried out and very drinkable mouthfeel. Wow.

Further Personal Perceptions:
-A thick head of foam bobs atop the misty golden.
-The fluffy effervescence and dry body make for a superbly authentic mouthfeel.
-The spicy, herbal hop bitterness is levelled with the rest of the flavor profiles medium intensity.
-This is as accomplished as Odonatas own Saison, for example.
