3.5 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Originally reviewed: 11/25/12. Went to a friend’s this last holiday weekend and we cracked this one among others. Poured into a mason jar (that’s all we had at the time). Pours a fair honey gold with a big frothy white head on top. Great retention; leaves lots of sticky lace. There are a ton of bubbles rising through this one, feeding the head. The nose is yeasty, tart, earthy, and mildly fruity. Some pineapple noted.
The bubbles create a prickly feel that borders on harsh. I know many of this style are over-carbonated in my experience, but I really wish this was tamed down a smidge. Flavors of pineapple, apple, lemon pepper, dirt, spicy yeast. This is flavorful as all get out. There’s a lack of sweetness though, that would help balance it out a bit more.
This was a good domestic take on the style. It’s not a style I visit often, but this was good. Thanks, Marco!
Tall can from Liberty Beer in Pittsburgh. A bit strong on first impression and over done on sweetness. Has a nice spice bite. ebone1988 (1918) - Dearborn, Michigan, USA - JUL 13, 2017
Can from Merchants. Aroma is tart, fruity, estery, barnyard, slight funk, slight tart, good. Appearance is dark golden, light tan head, hazy. Taste is fruity, bitter, tart, decently hoppy, pine, citrus, malt, slight funk, barnyard, slight spice, good. Mouthfeel is light to medium body, light carbonation, hoppy estery aftertaste. Overall, it’s quite enjoyable. kespecial (252) - - JUL 8, 2017
Pour is light orange, on the darker side for a saison. White head, good lacing. Great apple, apricot, fruity yeasty nose. Very dry, mineral, light on the palate. Minmal to no spice. Good saison, but nothing special. EvanFriend (592) - Pennsylvania, USA - JUN 23, 2017
Kinda mineraly, peach notes in the middle, bitter finish. Not bad, but not great either. I’m continually unimpressed by Stillwater. FatPhil (16102) - Tallinn, ESTONIA - JUN 10, 2017

Thinnish light malts in the aroma, fruity - apple - and fairly sweet. Clear pale orange, tight head settles to a ring. Starchy malty taste, sweet and fruity. Fairly fullish palate, decent carbonation, but is a bit watery. A bit boring, a kinda drinkable saison, I guess.
On tap at TCBW 2017. Golden yellow colour. Thin white head. Notes of barnyard, candy sugar, yeasty notes, flowery notes and malts in the aroma. Slightly bitter, malty, bit sour, slightly citrussy taste. Slightly bitter, rather dry finish. Light bodied, quite usual farmhouse. b33r (875) - Ohio, USA - MAY 24, 2017
Bright gold color, medium white head with messy lacing. Aroma and flavor have nice grassy, yeasty characteristics. Rich flavor, not too funky, but tastes good. martjoobolut (4386) - Tallinn, ESTONIA - MAY 23, 2017
