COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
India pale ales harness the inherent flavor characteristics of hops to bring forward familiar flavors of pine, resin, spice and citrus. In some cases, those botanicals are so potent, they exactly mirror specific edibles. Such is the case with Centennial hops, which hail from the Great Northwest and come across on the palate like a mouthful of citrus fruit. The sensation is amplified with this, the first beer introduced via the Stochasticity Project, a double IPA brewed with Centennial, Chinook and Magnum hops as well as an immense dosing of fresh grapefruit peel. The result is over-the-top bittersweet grapefuit intensity that is at once refreshing and bracing in its citrusy bitterness.

Bomber. Bottled 1/29/14. Wow, another old hop-forward ale for me. I swear, I meant to buy these beers fresher. Aroma is grapefruity, burnt caramel. Pours hazy cantaloupe with a medium off-white lacy head. It actually tastes like the bitter pith of a grapefruit. Tastes old, unappealing. I know it says to drink fresh, but shit, this should still be drinkable after a couple months. It barely is. Maybe this was delicious when it was fresher. It’s not right now, though.

22oz bottle: Hiding in the back of the fridge. This one pours a clear golden color. Minimal head and no lacing. Grapefruit and lemony nose. The taste is good. Grapefruit and lemon hop flavors with a fair amount of bitterness. Good malt body, but any residual sweetness is masked by the hops. Very nice. Hopefully they will brew it again!

March 21, 2014 - with blankboy, gregclow, mabel and jercraigs - bomber. Clear bubbly gold with a frothy off-white head. Aroma is sweet grapefruit, alcohol and quite a lot of floral bitterness - simple but appealing. Taste follows, but moreso - very nice! Average body, astringent, decent carbonation - somewhat quick finish, a little pith to coat the palate, but it never really builds - solid stuff, fairly easy-drinking too.

Tap at GABF. Pours a clear orange gold with medium off white head leaving sticky lacing. The aroma is strong grapefruit pith, grass, pine. Medium body, grapefruit, dank, pine, lingering bitterness, very good.

22oz bottle pours out a orangish amber topped with a sand head. Nose is nice grapefruit citrus hops kick along with some nice bread malts. Taste is more of the grapefruit citrus and a well balanced malt.

Poured from the bomber, chunky orange. This one is tropical, citrus, resin, peel, tasty, and nice and potent. I think this project was a success, and there should be more projects like this in the works everyday.

Pours very murky with a off white head with good lace. Taste of Grapefruit, candy sweetness, malt and some bitterness in there as well. They play off each other very well. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Rated on 7-30-2015 (Bottled 01/22/2014) The appearance of this beer is a medium sized white head that mostly diminished, transparent yellow body, slow rising carbonation, and a fair amount of lacing. The aroma presents citrus hops, grapefruit, tropical fruit, and malt. The flavor is moderate bitterness, citrus hops, grapefruit and malt. The mouthfeel is moderate carbonation and this is a light-medium bodied beer. A very good brewed beer with a good flavor that is worth trying.

I love the look of this brew, the flavor I’m not so sure about. It has a lot of citrus and a strange fruit flavor. It has a big alcohol presence with a nice burn.

This bottled brew from a bottle shop poured a medium sized head of foamy fine to medium sized white colored bubbles that were mostly diminishing and left behind a strongly carbonated very hazy dark orange brown colored body and a fair lacing. The mild aroma was citrus and hoppy. The sharp mouth feel was tingly at the start and at the finish with a bitter hoppy aftertaste. The strong flavor contained notes of citrus and hops. A decent one that I would consider drinking again.
