Dull golden appearance, fairly lifeless pour. Damp dog aroma. Sweetish butterscotch malt flavor, slight crispness towards the finish. I’d think this was spoiled but looks like the couple of reviewers before me got the same comments. Boystout (1000) - Chisinau, MOLDOVA - JAN 5, 2005
Nice malty lager, golden colored, full-bodied with big foamy head. Ochakovo is one of the most "European" brewers in Russia. beerguy101 (5364) - Newark, California, USA - SEP 26, 2004
Medium light gold color. Small head. Aroma is malty, sweet and cornish. A medium bodied pale lager. Malts are fruity and sweet. Hops are slightly spicy. Kind of watery and flat tasting (dead carbonation) Hints of butterscotch. Way too sweet. Kind of bland and watery. On the plus side it has no signs of skunkyness. There is also a touch of spiciness to the hops. Mouthfeel is thin. Finish is clean. Aftertaste is slightly sweet. whaleman (2178) - North Wales, Pennsylvania, USA - MAY 13, 2004
Bottle says "Stolichnoye Lager Beer" with the word Premium, I think, in Russian on the neck. Says 4.7% ABV. Golden body with mild carbonation and thin sudsy head. Mild aroma of butterscotch and pale malt. Tangy, metallic flavor with noticeable sweetness. Touch of spice helps but fails to save this beer.
