COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
It’s a saison of sorts; hellaciously herbaceous and hopefully contagious. This was not a ready made ale. But it is a ready made collaboration. Meaning Stone and Victory are 2 breweries that are exactly like Dogfish in that they do/brew exactly what they love and they do/brew it exactly like no other brewery out there. (Love - lots of it in this bottle)

-Samuel A Calagione

Ale brewed with parsley, sage, rosemary, and thyme.

Really good beer. Keeps the best parts of a saison and a hoppy beer and mixes them perfectly.

2016/07/02 - Pours a hazy deep gold colour with a thick, foamy white head that slowly reduces and leaves moderate lace. Aroma is citrus (orange and lemon), hay, spices (sage, rosemary, clove) spicy/herbal hops and doughy yeast. Taste is lightly tart lemon/orange citrus, spices (sage, clove), dough, hay, herbal/mildly spicy hops and light caramel. Mouthfeel is medium and silky with lightly biting carbonation and a drying, mildly medical finish. Ok. Nothing exceptional. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

3 of the great breweries in america get together to offer this diamond Clear golden with a fluffy white head. An amazing aroma of sage and oddly eucalyptus and sweet malt. Good creamy palate. Tastes of sage, thyme, and rosemary with a good caramel back bone. Delicious and outstanding

Bottle (2016 version). Gold with a white head. 3+ Aroma of oranges, pepper, light dough, herbs. You could believe the herbs are as listed but thy don’t blast at you. -- A relief after the execrable Stone Saison. Medium bodied, carbonation not that high for a supposed saison. Hay and dough, some apricot, citrus, spices, herbs. Moderate bitterness at the less than dry finish. Not a great deal going on for 6.8%, but OK.

Bottle into pint glass; clear (maybe tad haze) bright golden color with eggshell white head. Aroma notes of strong herbs (rosemary, sage, lemon zest), tad white pepper and juicy citrus hops. Taste adds bread, tad more black pepper, parsley, honey sweetness and citrus/pine bitterness. Light-medium body, moderate carbonation, crisp, lively with herbal citrus finish. Unique and refreshing brew, tad more bitter than average saison.

Straw color with a tall fluffy near white head. Lots of things going on in the aroma. Herbs of rosemary and sage, light yeast, clove honey, more floral to herbal scents, a bit of toasted biscuit, pepper, eucalyptus, menthol, and lemon. I’m not quite sold that it is a great aroma, but it is certainly complex. Quick sweet start. Pale malt and wheat jump in. Herbal hop and spicy yeast bound about with lavender, light licorice, white pepper, sweet sage and hint of citrus. Noticed the bottle indicated thyme, but I can’t say I detected that. Very interesting and enjoyable.

Bottle pour side by side with the other producers pour light gold with moderate white head. Nose crystal malt, sage, thyme, and light rosemary. Taste sweeter malt, light herbal, and definite bitter typical of Stone. Could have picked this one blind as Stone. Light herbal, sage and thyme.

nearbeer (5413) - Knoxville, Tennessee, USA - MAY 10, 2016
12 oz. bottled 02/18/2016, indicates 6.8% abv. Lightly foggy, orange-golden body has nice legs and a creamy disc of foam. Aroma is flowery honey, biscuit, lightly spicy herb mix and a bit of lemon. Flavors of sage, sourish honey, flowery lemon and some light funk. Some evergreen resin, bubblegum and bitter toothpick in the long finish. Near-medium body has medium-plus, but smooth carbonation and a dry slant.
