Nice golden hue to this ale. Banana and clove are the primary tastes to me. Not really tasting any lime, but I do note the weizen aspect. Not the most well-rounded belgian I’ve had, but a nice, refreshing effort scraff (2125) - Baltimore, Maryland, USA - MAY 20, 2004
Sparkling golden ale, frothy white head. Nose of banana, lemongrass, clove, bread dough, with a hint of pepper. Rich and sweet with a decent shot of citrus on the back end to try and balance. Never quite makes it with sweet malty notes winning out by just a bit. Full- bodied, super soft carbonation, spicy, dry, limeless finish. Good stuff, worth a try, but certainly not a Stone best effort. hopscotch (11451) - Vero Beach, Florida, USA - MAY 19, 2004
Crystal clear, light golden ale with a very small, creamy, white head. Spicy aroma with notes of lemon, banana, bubble gum, coriander and nutmeg. The flavor is very decently balanced despite the incredibly rich malt. Tangy and sweet. Full-bodied with a very oily mouthfeel and pillow-soft carbonation. Dry, spicy finish. I get no lime out of this beer in any way, shape or form. I hate lime anyway. dirtymike (2016) - Manchester, New Hampshire, USA - MAY 17, 2004

Good Apple Juice amber color with a nice foam. Some fruit hints in the nose. Strongly tangy. Crisp and fruity. Nice texture. Decent bitters on the aftertaste.

Clear gold with a creamy head. Nose is fruity, some sugars and lots of yeast. Interesting flavor, fruity and vaguely citric, loads of yeasts, some candy sugars, and a very odd set of spices. Quite nice. jeffin7 (613) - Silver Spring, Maryland, USA - MAY 15, 2004
Pours a hazy gold with a creamy white head. Aroma is of hay, grapes, and other fruit. Flavor is of a light wheat and hay, bananas, some spice - cloves mostly, and something that changes between cotton candy, caramel and lime (wierd but great). The palate is very creamy yet the body is light to medium making it incredibly drinkable, damn near quaffable which can be dangerous at this ABV. Wheat and spice and everything nice would some up this one. LiebeBier (808) - Annapolis, Maryland, USA - MAY 15, 2004
Sweet, somewhat tart aroma. Hazy golden color with white head. Tiny champagne like bubbles cascade up the glass. This beer tastes like a cross between a Hefe and a Saison. The label says its made with lime and would be good with Thai food. I imagine that combo would be great. CaptainCougar (7634) - Columbia, Maryland, USA - MAY 14, 2004
Clear deep golden color with a frothy white head. Aroma of pale malt, a touch of Belgian yeast, and plenty of peppery coriander spice. Nice sweet malty and candi sugar flavor at first, turning more dry and spiced toward the finish. Pretty well balanced, but could use some aging, which I guess fits well with the theme. My wife and I slightly disagree regarding the aroma here - I like the banana/clove, she thinks it smells a little too over-ripe (you know how bananas smell when they’ve turned all black). Taste was banana, clove, yeasty, citrus - ok, maybe I taste the lime leaf? - whatever the source, I like it a lot - a very citrusy tripple. Palate was very smooth and full. I’ll update this rating as I try it again.
