Tap at CK for 12.12.12 VE night. Pours a deep brune looking black. Medium carbonation, spotty lacing. Nose is barleywine all the way- strawberry candies, toffee, caramel, mint. Taste is pine, spices, red candies, mint. Comes across a bit drained and bland though. Palate aerated, thinner than expected. thirdeye11 (6162) - Dallas, Texas, USA - DEC 14, 2012
(Draught) clear deep brown-ruby, lack of head. Nose of chocolate, anise, licorice, Belgian yeast. Taste is strong of anise, alcohol heat, spicy, bits of cocoa, interesting mix but not my favorite. Body is medium but the carbonation has gone. Macegan75 (853) - Phoenixville, Pennsylvania, USA - DEC 14, 2012
Bottle at Damico’s for Vertical Epic Series. Pours murky dark brown to black with some tan colored head that lingers lightly. Nose is roasted notes and fruity aldehydes, mild phenol and very little chocolate notes. First sip is similar by less intense, finish is nice with toasted bready notes. phaleslu (10750) - Cincinnati, Ohio, USA - DEC 13, 2012
Draft at Avenue Pub on 12/12/12. Good timing! Pours a clear, deep mahogany color with a small off-white head that settles into a tiny lasting ring. Aroma of caramel, banana esters, chocolate, sweet bread, and brown sugar-toasted nuts. Flavor of toasted caramel, dried fruits (fig, raisin), bread, milk chocolate. Leathery finish. Light-medium bodied, with a sweet, malty mouthfeel and a sneaky amount of carbonation that gives it a crispness. Glad I got to try it. Not bad at all, even though the age shows. Bottle, shared at Brendan’s 12/12/12 party! Pours a dark amber-brown with an off-white ring. Aroma is sweet, a bit of wood, roasted malt, dark fruits. Taste is very sweet, with lots of dark fruits, wood, cloves, still some nice hops too. Lingering sweet, woody bite. Very nice. Damico (3150) - Royersford, Pennsylvania, USA - DEC 12, 2012
Cellared really well - thanks Tom! This has been cellared Pours murky, unclear dark brown with a nice caramel colored head. The aroma has faded to Belgian yeast, tangy and sweet malts, and some molasses - pretty decent still. The flavor brings sweet and tangy malts as well with the chocolate notes having faded unfortuntately. The body is still nice - decently full. The ending of the malts and molasses linger on the tongue. Blairgus (4615) - California, USA - DEC 12, 2012
12-12-12, tap. Dark brown almost black. Nose is nut brown ale, maybe some licorice, faint chili. Thin body and moderately fizzy. Some lime peel, burnt toast, maybe some cinnamon. Decent. No real alcohol presence.

Draft at Churchkey 12.12.12. Deep cloudy burgundy pour with thin film of lacing. Nose and flavor bring chocolate roast, deep plum, further dark fruit. Dry mouthfeel, cinnamon and clove. Pretty good. haddon90 (1634) - Newport Beach, California, USA - DEC 11, 2012
Bottle. Pours a clear mahogany color with a nice tan head. Nice, brown sugar aroma with a lovely hint of malt. Very smooth. Sweet with a light balance of hops. Great sense of the brown sugar and molasses. The alcohol is very well masked. A truly amazing beer.
