COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
In this years edition we took our inspiration from two Belgian styles: Saisons and Golden Triples. As such, the Stone 07.07.07 Vertical Epic has a deep, deep golden hue and the flavor is spicy, fruity, complex and refreshing. We used four different malts, and a subtle, yet distinct, blend of Glacier and Crystal hops to get just the right balance. Then, for the complexity, we added in some exotic spices --- including ginger, cardamom, grapefruit peel, lemon peel and orange peel (the latter three acknowledging our Southern California home) --- and a special Belgian yeast strain. All in all this is yet another case of us drawing from classic Belgian influences and cavalierly making it our own...San Diego style!

Bottle. Pours hazy amber with a small frothy white head, mostly diminishing, spare lacing. Aroma is heavy malt (bread, hay, straw), average hops (herbs, grass), heavy yeast (barnyard, earth), with notes of alcohol, peach and coriander. Medium bodied, alcoholic texture, lively carbonation and a bitter finish. Average duration, light sweetness, moderate acidity and bitterness.

22oz bottle-pours a disappearing white head and amber color. Aroma is spicy, wood, some medium malt-caramel, yeast. Taste is plenty of spicy-clove, wood, some medium malt-caramel/rock candy, citrus, yeast, alcohol. Interesting. Occasional, sipping. OK effervescence. Thanks to Joe-jwc215 for picking this out.

Bottle, bought @ Systembolaget, Malm.
[thank you, Myrup]
Pours lightly hazy golden with an impressive, creamy, off-white head. Aroma is soft, nots of liqourice and peppermint, oranges, light alcohol and sweet biscuity malts. A touch of pineapple in the end. Super nice, creamy mouthfeel. Flavour is lightly spicy, some coriander, ginger and vanilla. Sweet and lightly grainy, doughy malts. Some apples. Wow, this is really nice and soooooo greatly balanced.

22oz bottle. Filling in the Vertical Epics I have not rated (had this during a full 020202 - 121212 vertical). Orangish in color with a small sized head. Citrus, rinds, fruity, and spices.

"nice and dry, which ends up being quite the pleasant mouthfeel. sampled 1/09 and it aged quite well...and was exceptional aged in red wine barrels for eight months!"

Bottle... O-Town Throwdown Part Deux... Clear, light amber ale with a mid-sized, frothy, off-white head. Nice, but odd, herbal aroma offers up notes of lavender, clove and pale grains. Moderately sweet, lightly acidic and mildly bitter with orange peel, grass, peach and clove. A touch hot. Full-bodied and watery with tingly carbonation. Tangy, minerally, bone-dry finish. Thanks to DragonStout for sharing this bottle!

Shared at Cigar City by?? Not sure. It was really good until I tasted the red wine barrel version!! Very yeasty and spicy with some plantain and a bit too much honey/sugar flavors. Not bad, but not amazing.
