Enjoyed this highly anticipated beer at the Stone vs. Brooklyn beer dinner. It poured a deep yellow/orange with a spicy aroma. The flavor was packed with Belgian spices, lemon zest and citrus fruits. The finish was smooth and warming. Overall, a very well balanced Belgian treat from California. 12many (277) - Alaska, USA - JUN 21, 2008
This beer was very interesting. Tropical flavors mixed with spices and citrusy hops. This beer was very good, but very different. Refreshing and easily drinkable. This should be on the Corona commercials instead of Corona. mreeves (276) - Sammamish, Washington, USA - SEP 14, 2007
Deep golden color, not much of a head or lacing on the glass. Spicy, floral aroma and flavor. Taste of green pepper, lemon, spices. Some hops come through toward the end, but not in the normal Stone way. A very nice and drinkable Belgian style brew. One of my favorites in the Vertical Epic series. Pours golden orange with a tart sour aroma. Strong flavor of citrus and tart apple. Finishes smooth and sweet.

Yes, first rater. Aroma is fruity and sweet, with yeast and. Flavor is quite nice, complex and easy going. Dark fruits, with a middle tartness, and a bitter, dry, and warming finish. Full bodied. Pours orangish-brown with a nice long-lasting creamy head. Nice one.

Bottle: This one pours a nice amber color, with a small white head. Smell is incredibly yeasty, with citrus and orange smell in it. I also smell just a hint of banana. Taste is a little thicker on the banana side, but I also notice a nice maltiness to it. As I continue to drink, you can taste a bit of yeastiness. The alcohol is a tad hot, but should mellow out in time. FezMonkey (268) - Las Vegas, Nevada, USA - AUG 3, 2007
Opaque golden color with a average sized white head. Aromas of bananas and grapefruit as well as malts. Complex fruit flavors and a nice clean aftertaste. I need a few more of these jems. kevin62 (267) - New Jersey, USA - JUL 14, 2007

A golden clear beer with a small white head that doesn’t last. Aroma is spice dominated with belgian yeasty notes. The flavor is so overwhelmingly spicy it hardly tastes like beer. I guess I missed the first instalments, but I probably won’t get around to giving this another chance in 4 years.
