Bottle. Pours clear orange yellow, bubbly off white head. Aroma is spicy, funky, musty, tangy, alcohol and also banana. Flavor is the same with some tomato and bitterness. I can definitely taste the alcohol and slight acetone. This should be aged longer because it will probably settle down and mellow out. Although I aged the bomber since purchase in July, I was too impetuous to drink this now. Let this be a lesson. Wah! :( 19Ei8hty (1166) - Washington, USA - OCT 6, 2007
Heavy alcohol presence on the nose - Lots of pear, apple, and lemon. Pretty drty, spicy and nutty. Fairly plain belgian ale - a little thin and overly sweet. Alcohol not well hidden - glad I did not buy a bunch of these as I would be digging through the garbage looking for the receipt - not bad, but very overpriced and overrated. ontario102 (794) - Boise, Idaho, USA - OCT 27, 2007
Cloves, cardamom, ginger and floral aroma; sweet and spicy, simple malt profile; somewhat yeasty and perfumey; tart, acidic finish. Don’t care for it much. jcwattsrugger (12559) - Florida and, New Jersey, USA - NOV 1, 2007
22oz bottle-pours a disappearing white head and amber color. Aroma is spicy, wood, some medium malt-caramel, yeast. Taste is plenty of spicy-clove, wood, some medium malt-caramel/rock candy, citrus, yeast, alcohol. Interesting. Occasional, sipping. OK effervescence. Thanks to Joe-jwc215 for picking this out.

Had this beer on 8/12/2007. Aroma is a spicy citrus scent that reminds me of a White. Color is a hazy golden with good carbonation. The bubbles from the carbonation seem to rise slowly making this beer seem thick. Taste is sweet and spicy. Starting with a medium body it goes down easy with a smooth feel. Finish comes in sweet turns to a spicy/citrus flavor with yeasty back tones and an alcohol feel. On the end its both bitter and sour. Overall I think it is everything they wanted it to be but for me it leans a bit too much to the Saison. There is an odd taste to it and is no where near as good as last years. grandet (501) - Scranton, Pennsylvania, USA - MAY 5, 2008
Copying from my tasting notes. Bottle. Dark golden pour with a small white head. Very spicey/citrus on the nose. Sort of bland taste through out with some light spices. Not great brokephibroke (316) - Mead, Colorado, USA - AUG 15, 2008
Pours straw gold with a thick, diminishing rootbeer like head. Ginger, citrus yeasty bubblegum like aroma. Taste is not so good - bitter a bit, flowery a bit with ginger a bit. Palate is unremarkable, Not a good effort from one of my favorite brewers.... CaptBier (323) - Birmingham, Alabama, USA - AUG 31, 2008
Bottled. An amber beer with a thin beige head. The aroma is sweet amlty with notes of peaches, citrus, and spicy notes of especially cardemomme. The flavor is sweet matly with spicy notes of cardemomme, lemon peal, and cinnamon. jgb9348 (6586) - Arlington (Pentagon City), Virginia, USA - JUN 15, 2010
Rich golden coloured body with bright orange highlights and a dense off-white head. Aroma of apricots, fresh hops, alcohol and some light citrus notes. Medium to Full-bodied; Deep bready tastes with yeast, alcohol and coriander seed coming through most. Aftertaste shows a lot of wheat, citrus and a ton of alcohol. Overall, a too strong and potent version of a tripel, without the good characteristics and complexities of a Saison. A good attempt, but not great. I sampled this 65 cL bottle purchased from Whole Foods in San Francisco (4th Ave), California on 12-June-2010 in a quadruple vertical tasting (06-09) of Vertical Epics with Phil (haddon90) at home in Manassas, VA.
