COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
In 2008, Stone Brewmasters Steve Wagner and Mitch Steele traveled to Belgium, where they enjoyed a number of hop-forward Belgian tripels, pale ales and IPAs—beers that had taken a cue from the U.S. craft brewing movement and inspired us in return. It’s a big reason 2008’s summer season came to be known at Stone as our “Summer of the Triple.” Upon their return, they crafted Stone 08.08.08 Vertical Epic Ale, the seventh beer in the 11-beer Stone Vertical Epic Ale series. Packed with floral, spicy essence from Belgian yeast plus plenty of hoppy New World character, it’s our West Coast take on hop-driven Belgian beers.

Light golden color with a white foam. Aroma is fruity with hints of spice. Flavor is light and clean. Goes down almost too easy. Would like to try again.

[9753-20171027] 1pt6floz bottle. Alcoholic grains aroma has a bit of a sweet brown leaf note. Clear, bright orange body with a medium-lasting foamy off-white head. Bitter light leafy yeasty grains flavour. Medium body. Good, not often a fan of this style but I like the extra hopping. (7/3/8/4/15) 3.7

Draught @ Pikkulintu, Helsinki. Pours golden orange with a large foamy head. Aroma of spices, malts, ripe fruits, citrus and lemon. Taste is spicy, herbal hoppy and lemony with some ripe fruits, yeast and malts. Finish is sweet and yeasty with some ripe fruits and earthy notes, hints of citrus and lemon. Okay.

An unusual beer, little aroma, great looks, but not much by way of a head. Beer is unusually sharp and tart but has an earthy dryness at the finish.

On bottle from Vinmonopolet Aker Brygge, march special releases. Slightly cloudy almost clear color with good bubbly foam. Medium aroma intensity; fruity, a bit artificial fruits / chewing gum, some peach and orange. Medium body & complexity . Some immediate sweetness, good bitterness and pretty good balance. Smooth & Very enjoyable ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Traditional English Porter. Has all the right notes, but nothing overwhelming. Good session Porter. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
