Draft on 12/12/12. This was my favorite VE of the evening. Lots of resin and tannin, very rich, raisins, dates, plums, prunes. Tasty. craftycarl21 (2338) - Seattle, Washington, USA - DEC 12, 2012
Draft at Churchkey 12.12.12. Rich black pour with tan head. Nose and flavor marked by beautiful vanilla, raisin, bittersweet chocolate, and caramel with a dry finish. Quite lovely. bootsjohn (68) - Texas, USA - APR 27, 2012
From tasting notes: Nose is sour grape and oak backed by light strawberry and chocolate. Taste is roasted red wine (if that makes any sense) and bitter dark chocolate. Color is very dark with a light tan, sticky, lacy head.
On the back end, mild sour notes make me wonder if there was any wild yeast used in fermentation. Tastes more stout than strong, dark Belgian. Candi sugar and chocolate are stronger as beer warms. Very good beer. ansjelaah (1748) - Oirschot, NETHERLANDS - MAR 11, 2012

Taste. Dry chocolate roast, winey tanins.
Mouth. Medium bodied low carb.
Overall: Very tasty, the wine barrel dried this a bit.

Sehr getreidiger Antrunk, zunächst wenig, dann stärker hopfig. Dabei rund und würzig malzig, Schokoladennoten, gelungene Süße. Etwas erdig, voll, minimal herb. Süffig! 13/13/12/10//12

Draught at Chez Moeder Lambic Fontainas during the three day Stone Event, 16-18 september 2011. Pitch black, opaque color, nice vast beige head. Smell coffee, vanilla, caramel and wood. Taste coffee, a lot of roastyness, caramel and bitter: very nice. Good carbonation, full body. suprchunk (2994) - Crestview, Florida, USA - SEP 20, 2011
Black pour with a rich tan head. Quick to dissipate and leaves no trace of lacing. Sweet malty aroma with some dark fruit mixed in. Peppery taste mixed with some vanilla and a bit of a caramel taste. A slight sour feeling from the aging in barrels I suppose. But a nice mixture of sweet maltiness is left behind to help out. A very good beer.
