Draft to taster at Dutch’s. Looks solid; a transparent brownish-orange with thin off-white lacing. Smells solid; almost like a dry champagne. Tastes alright, but nothing special. Semi-sweet and doughy with a bit of the French oak. Average on the palate. Decent, but nothing special.

On tap. Mostly hazy dark orange color. Thin kind of bubbly off-white head. Little dots of lace. Nice oaky lightly tart nose. Good citrus, lightly grapefruity taste. Little tart, some lemon peel zest. Some solid yeastiness. Medium body. Light, smooth carbonation. More dry, clean finish. This is a nice one. Oak really works, here.

Draft at Dutch’s. Pours a hazy orange amber color with a small creamy beige head. The aroma is spicy, fruity with citrus notes, woody, mild caramel, and light vanilla. The flavor is moderately sweet with fruit (citrus, banana), spices (cloves), wood, light caramel and vanilla. A touch soft in the carbonation.

A - murky caramel copper w/ no head. No lace. S - bubble gum, soured oak, cloves, muscat, Riesling, honey, funk. M - full bodied. Rich rich sticky sweet. No carb. T - doughy, Belgian yeasts/bubble gum, cloves up front, sticky caramel malty over ripe apple to a muscat, Riesling/Sav Blanc. Lingering doughy Belgian yeasts. O - interesting overbearing Belgian with hints of a wine conglomerate. 3.7 ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Draft at Stone. Cloudy amberish with thin off white head. Honey, spice, oak, not as boozy as the non-oaked version.

Nickls (2523) - Alexandria, Virginia, USA - DEC 17, 2012
Tap, CK. Fluffy white head; very hazy orangey body. Light fruit sourness, some hay, touch of fruity sweetness as well in the aroma. Touch acidic, slighty belgian candy sugar, some sourness, unripe fruits, and a touch of the barrel comes in. Medium to lighter body with good carbonation. Expectations were exceeded!

Tap at CK for 12.12.12 VE night. Thanks to Travlr for the share. Pours a clear, deeper amber to red in the light. Weak head with spotty lace. Nose is lemon, herbal, big vanilla. Taste is oily vanilla bean, sugar, tart lime, sweet and sour playoff. Lactic, tart finish. Quenching palate. Probably picked up a benign infection for the better here. Yum!

Draft at Stone Bistro. Pour is an amber color, with off-white head. Sweet caramel malt, grape, oak barrel character, lightly floral, fruit esters, and some yeast. Ok.

radagast83 (8006) - Alexandria, Virginia, USA - DEC 13, 2012
Draft at Churchkey. Poured a clear golden yellow color with a small off-white head. Aroma was some Belgian yeast notes, sweet malts, spices, and a touch of wood. Flavor was sweet, but more mellow from what it once was. Oak notes, some vanilla.
