UPDATED: DEC 4, 2012 Bottle. Poured a golden color. Smell of citrus, grapes. Taste similar to gewurztraminer wine but with floral carbonation. Very good. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone chicagobears (469) - Elk Grove Village, Illinois, USA - DEC 20, 2010
This is my first Vertical since Stone has only recently been distributed in my area. This one pours a hazy gold. Yeasty nose, bouquet of fruit with grapes, banana, apple, and a little pineapple. I think I detect a hint of honey. Flavor is somewhere between a Tripel and a white wine. Has that trademark Belgian "banana" sweetness. Certainly a good dose of hard candy sugar Some nice spicy notes. Has a appley/grape skin tartness. I enjoyed this one quite a bit! Glad Stone is in my neighborhood cause they make a hell of a brew. 22oz. bottle served in a Blvd. Tank 7 tulip. Poured a bright gold with less than a finger of white head that quickly dissipated. Plenty of fruit in the aroma as well as a bit of floral spice. Fairly light bodied for the abv. The grapes are really upfront. The chamomile lingers in the finish. Very white wine like. Fairly dry. Not a lot of hop presence. Interesting beer, but I wouldnít go out of my way to seek it our again. My wife, who is more of a wine lover, really enjoyed it. msojka (457) - New Jersey, USA - DEC 21, 2010
Pour is a light orange color with a small white head. Nose is very much of citrus, with some grapefruit and orange, and some hop notes. Flavor is sharp from all the citrus and then fades into the hops. It took some warming up to, but in the end I liked it. cakanator (452) - South Hadley, Massachusetts, USA - NOV 22, 2011
On tap @ sierra BGBB í10 from notes. Really interested to try something with grapes added. Pours out a nice sharp golden hue, fluffy white head, great retention. Belgian yeasty aromas, orange citrus, really zesty. Palate is smooth, slight sweetness in the finish, the orange citrus is bright. You can tell very much that this is a belgian ale, but not that it is 9.5.

Sampled at Chrisís bachelor party. Golden brown pour with a somewhat sour smell yet sweet flavor. Tasted as if it was it had been barrel aged. Had a slightly syrupy mouth feel. zickbeer_ye (441) - Virginia, USA - MAR 31, 2013
Earthy fruit smell witj spices. Foamy head with light yellow orange color. fruity crisp wine notes with a spicy herbal finish. Crisp and smooth on the palate a little spicy and dry at the end caralkaline87 (435) - Washington DC, USA - OCT 15, 2010
Pours gold with slight rustiness and a quick white head. Nose is big with apple-based malt, some hoppiness, and a decent dose of herbs and spice. Flavor is typical of an abbey tripel with a slight herbal quality. This is the first ale from Stone Iíve had that isnít loaded down with hops...the hop content is actually quite low in this one. The finish is bready. This isnít the best tripel/belgian strong Iíve had and not Stoneís best stuff but itís definately good and quite drinkable. Cellared for almost a full year. Pours a bronze orange fruity looking slightly cloudy color with a nice head. The aroma off this beer is phenomenally fruits, nuts, and berries. Extremely sweet smelling. Tastes of sweet fruits and berries with a slight nutty flavor to balance it out. For 9.5% not boozy at all, although it has a warming sensation throughout your core after a few sips. Very well matured and composed beer compared to last years tasting during the holidays. Great overall beer, canít wait till 11/11/11.... QuezXLV (423) - Virginia, USA - NOV 12, 2010
Slightly cloudy golden color with lots of particulates. Nice citrus aroma; particularly orange. Its got a bitter taste, but unique, and the alcohol is not very well hidden. I would love to have let this age, but I donít have the patients nor the environment to keep it for that long.
