Bottle @ Stephen’s house courtesy of Armin. Thanks! Pours a hazy reddish appearance with a light brown head. Tangy, juicy, red fruity, herbal, spicy aroma. Spicy, bitter herbal hoppy, straw, a bit juicy, big red grape, herbal flavor. Pretty interesting beer.
Bottle pour at home, pick this up last year in san diago at the stone store, love the virtual epic series, definitely still good, cloudy copper pour, a good red wine aroma with wood nots, little sweet to start, hint of a sour funck on the end, that definitely came out a little more when I let the tannins breath (wine jock). Over all I really like this beer, lot of complex flavors. JohnnyJ (5545) - San Diego, California, USA - DEC 15, 2014
On draft at Stone. Cloudy orange amber pour, with an off white head. Fruity, vinous, bread, bitterness, oak, yeast, red grape, a touch sour, and bitter finish. Decent. gramity (1638) - Edmonton, Alberta, CANADA - DEC 7, 2014
Pours cloudy dark amber/tawny with average, frothy off-white head; decent retention and lacing. Aroma is red wine, sour fruit, caramel and cookie malts, floral hops, and some herbs and spices. Flavor is sweet, bready malts forward with supporting red wine notes, mixed berries, light floral hops, light vanilla, and some oak; dry finish. Medium body and low carbonation. slowrunner77 (11917) - Reno, Nevada, USA - SEP 11, 2014
"Not an improvement over the far cheaper base beer, so definitely a one timer for me. I did enjoy it, though. Stone red wine barrels seem to have a very distinct fruity character that was an interesting choice for this copper colored pepper and cinnamon Belgian. the flavors that would seem to clash worked together well, but for that price something needs to knock your socks off."

Bottle... Hazy caramel pour with a small, white head. Decent retention. The bouquet is vinous, tangy and loaded with caramel. Full-bodied with stinging carbonation. The flavor is an intermingling of caramel, red wine, tanginess, oak and alcohol. Finishes tannicly bitter with a comforting alcohol warmth. I got neither chilies nor cinnamon out of this. 500ml bottle. Aged in red wine barrels. I thought this was a step up form the base beer, nice peppery flavor that melds with the tannins of the barrel. neuromatt (1225) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - JUN 9, 2014
500 mL bottle from the Best Damn Beer Shop in San Diego, served in a stem glass alongside the base and 12-12-12 at a tasting at Dan’s. Pours slightly reddish caramel with a medium tan head that remains and leaves a small amount of fine lace. The nose has big red wine and oak notes along with toffee, caramel, flowers, banana and subtle notes of pepper and cinnamon. The flavour is medium sweet with red grapes, banana, toffee and flowers along with subtle pepper and cinnamon. The finish is long and malty with toffee, red grapes, banana and subtle pepper-spice. On the palate it is medium-full in body with a smooth, creamy texture and average carbonation. Overall, a truly great brew that marries discordant flavours of pepper and red wine in a harmonious whole. Truly excellent. 2014-06-07 olr1984 (1500) - fort wayne, Indiana, USA - APR 8, 2014
500ml bottle pours a hazy amber with an off white head. Chili and cinnamon aroma. Taste is the same with an oak wine finish. todd_aka_rhino (10) - Lancaster, Pennsylvania, USA - DEC 25, 2013
This beer aged very well. It also had a great aroma and flavor profile. Cinnamon, chiles and the red wine barrels combine for a tremendous taste.

Poured an amber red color with aromas of grain, spice, some light fruit, wine and some oak. Flat or are the same but dominated by the red wine flavors decent beer but won’t need to have again.
