Bottle with Salmoniform for my first beer of my birthday (Nov, 11th) with the 11/11 vertical epic. Pours Amber with red hues, off white head. Aroma is strong figs, prunes, dark fruits, plums, vanilla, cinnamon. Taste has peppery heat, lots of dark Belgian esters, prunes, medium bodied, low to medium carbonation. Overall, hmmmmm.... Poured from bottle to glass. Copper hue with creamy off white head. Aroma is straw, esters, peppercorn, earthy, prunes, tobacco. Mouthfeel is ok with a medium light body and crisp carbonation. Taste is dry sweetness followed by a spice astringentness. Overall this is an odd brew. Dogbrick (13389) - Columbus, Ohio, USA - NOV 7, 2014
On draught at Petrol Station. Pours a clear dark copper color with a medium off-white head that diminishes gradually. Partial rings of lacing on the glass. Aroma of caramel, dark fruit and spices. Medium to full body with flavors of caramel malt, dark fruit, herbs and subtle chili pepper. The finish is fruity and malty, with the chili pepper all but nonexistent, possibly due to the age? Pretty good regardless. jackl (8271) - Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA - NOV 1, 2014
Bottle pour @ the 21st Richmond Gathering. Amber pour with a small head. Nose has loads of pepper. Pepper all over this. Lime, some apple. Taste is peppers, chocolate. Cardboard. Knackered. Not great.

It pours with a dark amber color that is copped by a big, foamy head. At this point, I expected the aroma to be pretty muted, and it was save for some bread, caramel, and a little bit of the chile. There is still a good hit of spice still present in the flavor, however, which provides a little punch and a little added sweetness even. The additions raise this beer from a solid, malty amber ale without seeming gimmicky. Maybe some of the character has been lost with age, but I found this beer to be quite enjoyable. radiomgb (2686) - Peterborough, Ontario, CANADA - OCT 26, 2014
Rich mahogany in colour, beige head, light lacing.
Aroma of cloves, cinnamon hearts, interesting mix.
Flavour of light spice, some light sweetness, liquorice.
Light spicy mouthfeel, med body, med carb.
Finishes with some chilies, spice.
Nice, good balance, Chili never overpowering as it’s really only noticeable at the end. Good epic ale. Desverger (12218) - Copenhagen, DENMARK - OCT 18, 2014
Bottle from Toft Vin, Copenhagen - dark amber brown coloured pour with beige head. Medium sweet malty aroma and taste, toasty, caramel, toffee, brown sugar, dried fruity and nutty, some cinnamon spice on the palate, good mouthfeel, warming dry finish. Bottle. Pours a slightly hazy amber beer with a thin off white head on top. Aroma has loads of port and vineous characters that go with a big malty base and a rich molasses front. Flavor is very sweet, very vineous and you can defintely tell the age on this one. Very nice, full bodied and well carbonated drinking experience, I wish I had the entire series, but unfortunately I don’t... scoth (687) - Fort Collins, Colorado, USA - OCT 8, 2014
Pours hazy deep copper brown with a puffy medium beige head, excellent retention, very fine lacing. Big malty aroma like a barley wine with notes of toast, biscuit, grass, hay, wood, and a hint of cinnamon. Medium full body, smooth and velvety. Mildly sweet, a hint of citrus, medium bitter finish.
