Bottle 65 cl. Courtesy of joergen. Pours a hazy amber with a beige, lacing head. Distinct dusty chili aroma atop some sweet caramel AND cinnamon. Solid body, sweet caramel and a little roastiness with a malt bitter finish. Sweet caramel and again cinnamon. What an odd mixture - why? 200312

Bottle. Amber/copper beer, small offwhite head. Cinnamon aroma, sweetish, the spices kinda kills the rest of the aroma. Cinnamon flavor, chilli, yeasty, some fruits. Very odd.

Great aroma on pour but left a terrible aftertaste almost like ink. A bit disappointing to me coming from the great Stone Brewery.

drank 1/22/12 from notes. Good foamy head, amber red color, smell citris-y, taste is bitter but not strong despite 9.4! But it was too bitter for me.

(Draught) cloudy deep ruby-amber, little head. Nose is sweet, fruity, spicy chilies, pepper jam. Very underwhelmed by the taste, spicy, celery, raw grain, cocoa, dark fruit, well carbonated, lightly spicy linger.

Bottle sample at a Vertical Epic tasting at Mastikim. Thanks Dagan. Pours murky amber with tan film. Grass, chili, capsicum aroma, red pepper, sweet, slightly smokey and spicy taste. Light body, soft fizz, long sweet-ish finish. Alright but doesn’t go to 11.

Bottle shared at a local tasting, thanks Brad! Pours a clear dark brown with a really thin head, the aroma has a subtle amount of spice with some yeast mixed in too, the flavor has a yeasty front end with a spiced finish, light mouthfeel, was pretty meh.

22 oz bottle. Hazy brown with off-white froth. Nose is banana, clove and green chili. Hints of cinnamon and plastic. Medium body with a sharp tingle. Taste is green banana, yeast, bitter grass, bitter spices and earthy chili pepper. A nice inclusion of spicy heat is about all that makes this brew worthy of consumption.

UPDATED: JAN 6, 2012 This beer leaves me with a confused look on my face. The spices they used in this beer seem to have worked very well. The base beer however, seems a bit dull, especially when combined with the interesting chili notes. The initial taste that I get is full of the spice from the chili and cinnamon that is quickly followed by waves of yeast and belgian beer characters that frankly don’t work to compliment the spice at all. I feel that these spices may be better served with a beer that has a deeper malt background instead of one where the yeast character is fighting with the spices. Altogether this is not as good as 10-10-10 and I didn’t love that beer. The aroma is quite perplexing with the chili spice taking the place of the hop characters on the nose.
