Bottle to glass. Massive spices of pumpkin pie with slight floral. Black with a brown head that lingers. Spices slightly more restrained in the flavor with malt backbone in support. Bitter finish and some bready yeast. PhilTheThrill (25) - Florida, USA - MAR 19, 2013

i hate to lead off my restarting of my beer reviews with something i’m so apathetic about... it smells a little medicinal to me, unlike the official description i get a lot of clove in the nose. the darkness will definitely fool the uninitiated - no coffee or roast to speak of on this particular keg. but it is getting toward the end... definitely that batch of allspice and clove that i expect in spiced belgian styles... i opened a stone 13th anniversary last night from 09 and it was better. does that help? mcrae19 (59) - - MAR 18, 2013
22 oz. bottle. Served in a snifter. Pours a dark brown with a tan head. Medium carbonation. Heavy cinnamon aroma and other spices. As for the taste, cough syrup meets A1 Steak Sauce. I took three sips and poured it down the drain—which is a serious disappointment, considering I have another bottle in the fridge. Never again. hfmejias (1283) - Marshall, Minnesota, USA - MAR 17, 2013
1 Pt. 6 Fl. Oz. Bottle. Pours a great looking dark brown with a tan head and lots of lacing that stays on the glass. Aroma of fruits and spices. Flavor of spices predominantly balanced with some sweetness from malts, smoke and booze but still very smooth and easy to drink; very interesting beer worth trying. rodenbach99 (4572) - Longueuil, Quebec, CANADA - MAR 17, 2013
Question de goût. J’aime beaucoup.

Pours a dark brown with a thick tan head. Smells of tropical fruit, chocolate, caramel. Taste is sweet, mildly bitter - chocolate, banana, mango. JCB (3999) - Durham, North Carolina, USA - MAR 17, 2013
Bomber from Sam’s, Durham. Not just my least favorite VE, this is my least favorite beer from Stone full stop. Handsome enough pour, dark brown with the look of a robust BSA. Nose is disconcertingly sweet and all-spice-y. Body a bit slick and palate somewhat waxy. But the flavor was just atrocious to me, loaded with candied yams, cinnamon, and nutmeg. Tough to drink. brigg (691) - New York, USA - MAR 16, 2013
(bottle) Black body with a large brown head minimum lace. Aroma is full of spice (allspice, clove, cinnamon, hint of ginger), sweet chocolate malt. Medium body, sticky mouthfeel. Flavor of ginger, allspice, cinnamon, orange peel; hint of sweetness up front but really dries out; also chocolate. Good and interesting flavor but the heavy spice and dryness make it a little hard to drink. alobar (3825) - Lansdale, Pennsylvania, USA - MAR 16, 2013
Pours balck with a tan head. Aroma of cinnamon,,ginger, and cardamon with some chocolate. Spice flavor is dominant with ginger, cardamon, and cinnamon with strong chocolate backbone. Quite nice. bth122 (1571) - Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA - MAR 16, 2013
Draft at one for the road in cranberry. . Poured a black color with fading head. Big aroma of dark fruit, cherry, cinnimon, nutmeg. Creamy texture. Medium sweetness. Warming alcohol. Ave carbonation. Enjoyed this power packed beer.
